This is an Olympus camera power supply that works with the *ist DS. I bought it today. I saw one months ago, but didn't buy it, because I had just bought a no-name 6.5 volt PS. That one didn't work though. It must not have output enough power. Taking a picture with that connected, caused the shutter to act like a machine gun.
Today I was at a thrift shop that I rarely go into, and found this power supply

Pentax K-3iii available for pre-order in Australia

35 years ago I read a book on the U.S. Automotive Industry. The Author, whose career had been focused on Detroit, said that the reason why U.S. manufacturers hated making small cars is because the cost to build a small car was about the same as a big car, but they could make more profit from selling a big car.
I'm sure that applies to DSLRs as well.

I bought one of these last night, and can't find any info on it. Did the company have serial numbers that indicated what company made it?

This is $1000 more than the last version, right?
This is more than the K1 Mark II, isn't it?

I think the problem is with the contacts.
Some batteries work, and others wont.

LI90 Battery Recharing Question

I was going to post a new topic about chargers.
Is it normal for a battery to get hot? Has your charger not stopped after what should be a normal charge time?
I can't yet pinpoint what's happening, but I have 3 batteries and 2 chargers, both Pentax. Sometimes a battery will charge and the light will go out, and other times the battery will get very hot and the charger won't turn off.
I just had this happen. The battery had been on the charger for 4-5 hours and it was very warm even though I had put a small fan on it due to a battery sometimes getting hot while charging.

After doing a bit of looking locally, today I found a power supply for it. I was pretty surprised by that, 6.5 volts seems like an odd spec for power. The power supply that was for a Panasonic device.

I just bought a *ist DS today. The Pentax Forums click counter says that it's at 7450.
I just updated the firmware to the latest. It now can read a 16 Gig SD card, but not a 64.

BOY! does it eat batteries.
I put in some rechargeables, fresh out of the charger, and after updating the firmware, there was only enough juice in them to format the card and take a photo with the flash. There wasn't enough power left to review the image.

I bought it from a thrift shop. It looked like it hadn't been used.
(no doubt a testament to how quickly it drains batteries! )

I bought the lens from KEH a couple of years ago after reading a lot about the lens. When the lens arrived, I didn't even inspect it due to the reputation of KEH that I had in my head. I hadn't bought from them before. Had I bought the lens from the average seller on Ebay, I would have inspected it thoroughly. I didn't take a good look at it until the KEH's return period had expired. I saw a bubble on an element inside, and that was a bummer. I've read that a bubble isn't suppose to reduce the image quality, but still I wonder if it's making the image softer. With this being an SP lens, their premium line, I would think that quality control would be higher. Maybe I'm not using the lens correctly, but I haven't seen "9.5 Sharpness" in any of the photos. I do have a internal filter, which I've read is necessary for optimal quality.

I thought that might be an explanation for how there's a small door, yet room for two cards.

Amazing Sync Speed with Nikon D1

This was regular, generic sync. I was using an old Sunpak, just one pin. After shooting with a flash up to 1/8000th, I looked on the web, and read about it on the Rockwell site. He said, yup, it will sync up to it's top shutter speed of 1/16,000th.

A few years ago I bought a D1 for $25 from a thrift shop. Recently I tried it with a flash, and was amazed that no matter how high I raised the shutter speed, the flash was still synced. I then researched it on the Web, and yup it will sync all the way to the camera's fastest shutter speed of 1/16,000th when using a no-name flash. When using a dedicated Nikon flash, the top sync speed is 1/500th.

This is interesting to me because I tried out a "Slide adapter" tube accessory I've had for a while, and the focus seems to be off.

I saw this at a thrift shop today. It had a slide bellows accessory. Hadn't seen one of those before. The lens looked like an enlarger lens, it was a 75mm. The lens had a collar fitted DYI style on it. Would all of this be used together? The bellows and the tubes?

I just used a can o' air on it. It seemed to work. I first tried a Rocket Blower, but it didn't work. It's about 5 years old, and might not be as powerful as it was new. I know that more than just air can blow out of a can so I was careful to keep it level. A few years ago, I cracked a lens element with a can of air.

One thing I want in a camera that the KP doesn't have is two card slots. Who wants to be shooting for money, and have the card fail?

I'm using spot auto focus. I thought about the contacts and cleaned them, but it didn't solve the problem.
