I have the DA 70mm, and love it for its sharpness, and compact size.

I've never used the 77mm, but from some of the examples here, I think I would like it.

Here's one example with the DA 70 with in camera pastel effect.

Choosing between Samyang 16/2.0 and 14/2.8

Hello, all.

I bought the Rokinon 14mm earlier this year, and love it. I've read that the Samyang, Rokinon and others are all the same lens.

It compliments my 16-45 and 17-50mm zooms very well.

Very good for interiors and group shots. The very wide field of view and proximity to a group means you can get 20 or more people in the frame in a medium-sized room.

This lens is about as wide as you'd want to go before dealing with extreme distortion.

It's a little hard to focus for me, but I use a focusing hood, and it works great.

I would get the 14mm over the 16mm.

Once you start using it, you'll probably love it.

Hello, everyone.

I haven't posted here in a while.

In January, I bought a Sigma 17-50 f2.8 lens.

I still love the image quality of my Pentax 16-45 f4 lens, but I wanted an f2.8 lens to focus better in low-light situations.

Here is a example from a recent model workshop.

Hello, all.

Here's a portrait from a recent model workshop.

Da70mm @ f2.8 on the K-50.

I'm beginning to like the pastel effect on portraits.

Hello, all.

A shot from a recent model workshop.

I usually don't like the K-01 pastel effect when used on a portrait, but I think it works well here.

K-01 with DA70mm @ f4.0.

I would love to use my Taks for portraits, but a model workshop is too hectic, and quick-paced.

I know that almost every month someone says, "All the entries are so good, I don't know which one to vote for."

This is true for this month.

I have never seen a competition in which every photo is this good, and eye-catching.

Which one did I vote for?

Number 9, because I like cats, and pretty women.

Mike :)

Here's my latest guitar purchase taken with my 55mm f2.2 Takumar @ f5.6.

I am always pleased with the results this lens gives, although I feel it is best used on a tripod, as it is not a lens that's easy to focus.

Yes, edgedemon, there was a misunderstanding on my part; I thought you were simply having trouble optically focusing your lens.

Sorry about that.

From what you're describing, it sounds like there may be a mechanical problem with your lens.

Then again, I'm no expert in this department.

Someone who knows more than I will probably add their opinion.

I should read more thoroughly before offering advice. :o

Edgedemon, the best advice that I can offer, is to get one of these: Hoodman HoodLoupe Optical Viewfinder for 3.2" LCD Displays H32

I used to have trouble focusing my Takumars, but since I bought one of these, it's no problem at all.

Yes, it is a little pricey, and it is best used with the camera on a tripod, but this loupe will make hard-to-focus manual lenses easy to focus.

It's also great for reviewing images in bright sunlight.

I wish I had known about this sooner.

Hello again, all.

As of this morning, the links in the messages I receive from Pentaxforums are illuminated in blue, and are working fine.

I did not touch anything on my end which caused this problem to begin, and I didn't touch anything to try to solve it.

It simply stopped working one day, and began working again another day.

Thank you to all who tried to help.

I guess computers sometimes do what they want.

Anyway, the problem persists, but as I previously mentioned, it's not a big deal.

I simply go to the site, click on my notifications, and get updated that way.

Should I switch from AOL?

What's good/bad about it.

I'm always willing to learn.

Hi, Adam.

I'm using AOL, and messages from all other sites are coming through fine.

I haven't changed anything on my end, that's why I thought this was so odd.

Not the biggest deal in the world, just puzzling.

Perhaps if I log out, and log back in, do you think this would help?

Hello to whoever might be able to help.

For the last 2 days, when I get an e-mail notice that there's a reply in a thread I'm subscribed to, the link is no longer highlighted.

I now have to copy and paste the link in my browser, or go to the site here, and go directly into the thread.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks.

Mike
