Congrats; the K70 will still be an excellent performing camera, and you will see the significant upgrade when you get to your next camera.
Enjoy.

What is better...... Apple or PC ?

Glad to hear you were able to make a comeback from the unsolicited update dysfunction. Whilst this phenomenon is not unique to PC, the Apple operating system is one slick and robust system indeed; even when updates don't quite go to plan, it is not a major drama to get back on track with it. That has been my experience thus far. I am no computer nerd to get into programming (and how do people invest their time into this unless it is their area of expertise?), so the MacOS has been my reliable workhorse for over 15 years. I've never looked back. If the MacOS were available on PC, I might think longer and harder about the cost differential, but the decision is so much easier with this not being the case. ;)

I hear you, although generally I would recommend any close focusing 'in the field' work be done in MF mode anyway because of how any tiny movements will make it almost impossible to fix focus on anything for more than a millisecond. It's easier to focus manually to the magnification desired, then slowly rock the camera forwards and backwards (or just wait for the right moment) until focus locks then implement the catch focus release for the photo.

Sorry Des, I totally missed the tone of voice. Yes to the focus limiter criticism, but as mentioned, some pre-focusing does help to limit hunting around.

K-1 with FA lenses.

Hard to know where the camera went wrong there. It shouldn't have gone bonkers like that from a setting on it. Well, whatever you did, congratulations. It should work flawlessly with all lenses from now on. Otherwise, I'd be suspecting a recurring problem with it. Give it a good test run on all your AF lenses.

K-1 with FA lenses.

Clean those camera contacts!
That was my problem when lenses wouldn't communicate with the K-1
I think my K-1 came with grease over them.
Once cleaned (just wiped off), then my K-1 would no longer switch off spontaneously, and would communicate fine with every lens.
FA lenses should work seamlessly on the K-1.
Make sure the lenses are all on the A position on their aperture rings.
All FA lenses have an aperture ring
DA lenses will not - everything is electronically set between the camera and lens.
But again, clean each of the contact, and you may as well do that on the lenses as well for good measure.

I have had this lens on the K-1 II and there are occasions where engaging the autofocus sends the lens on a goose chase in the other direction of focus when it could have gone the right way, or the subject moves ever so slightly and as the camera is being tricked it sends the autofocus down to its minimum focus and back looking for it. The closer you are to the subject, the less this becomes a problem since I havenít found the lens hunting in the other (infinity focus) direction.

The D-FA 100 WR and non-WR versions are neither Limited nor star. Iím not sure whether youíre referring to macro lenses but the WR version is about as good as youíll get, though the built quality of the F and FA versions of this lens are of excellent build as well. What are you looking for that would be better in any way than what the D-FA 100 WR offers?
