why apsc lenses are best for apsc cameras

Wrong. F stops relate to the amount of light projected per square mm irrespective of the format. Body has nothing to do with it, it really all relates to the diameter of the lens (aperture) and focal length, specifically for a simple lens the maximum aperture is focal length / diameter

The camera you are on, coverage etc is all managed separately by baffles in the lens

Actually they both concentrate the same amount of light in the same area, that is the definition of f stop. The only thing the full frame does, is for the larger image format, it puts more light into the mirror box of the crop sensor body. That might or might not lead to a little more loss of contrast than diffusing that light in the baffles of the lens itself

The engine ultimately ended up in my avitar.

great shots.

i always find it interesting that birds know that a red tailed hawk is not an airborne threat threat, yet coopers hawks, and falcons are.

Somewhere i have shots of a merlin going after a red tailed with similar agression

Recording aperture on K and M series lens

Pentax lenses generally have first and last aperture click as full stops and the remaining intermediate clicks in 1/2 stops.

There is no way to select F1.7 or 1.8 on K and M 50/1.4 lenses

I donít know that program, the question is the way CA is dealt with. If it is a fringe removal tool, like the base one in Corel PSP it wonít help edge sharpness, but if it is a tool that rescales the 3 color layers independently then it will work very well on the edge sharpness

Actually, I find the angle and display actually aid the identification because the tail is somewhat unique due to the color..

Decorating time: how do you play your music? (Tape | Vinyl | MP3 | Streaming | Other)

My stereo has evolved over the years. At the heart, and remained unchanged is a pro linear amplifier (circa 1973) and a gerrard transcription motor equipped with a Grade laboratory tone arm (circa 1959)

I added a Nikko AM/FM stereo tuner in about 1975.

Originally I had 4 AKAI 4000DB real to real tape decks, and an AIWA cassette deck, plus an equalizer and a Samsung audio mixer.

I added a CD player in about 1989.

Since then, the 2 AKAI decks have been replaced with a dual core PC and a dual channel A-D converter which I used to digatize all my music, about 1000 albums either from vinyl or tape,

The CD player has been replaced once as has the cassette deck.

Years ago, it was all displayed out in the open. When my daughter was young it got put into a 2 foot by 4 foot ceiling high pine cabinet with leaded glass doors.

Today, it all sits in a 20 inch ikea floor to ceiling cabinet, hooked into a 48 inch lcd tv. Built into a wall to wall book case.. out of sight, out of mind.

To be honest, it gets little use these days.

Back to the OP’s question, I find the sigma mini wide II series lenses to be prone to lateral CA that leads to off center loss of sharpness. I got a 28/2.8 for about $10, with stuck aperture blades and thought to try it out because it was in KA mount.

Was thoroughly disappointed until I got a photoshop add in that corrected lateral CA by scaling the color layers

What a difference

There may be an option that you can toggle that blocks the shutter while flash is charging.

Also use manual flash, so there is no preflash and metering.

Even 1/200 Will only be 5 fps maximum

Years ago, I think 2007/8 I replaced the shutter in my K10 cost then through Pentax was about $300 Canadian if I remember correctly.

So letís inflate it a little now to be perhaps 400 and where does that out you against getting a used one. That you are taking a risk on

beware of the sigma converter, it only works on lenses that have a recessed rear element, because its front element protrudes into the lens bore.

the lens bore at the mount needs to have an internal diameter of 35 mm and the rear element of th e lens needs to be recessed 15mm

not really along with bird guides maps, novels, etc itís about all I carry in addition to gear, but it comes in handy

But as I said you are not always in cell range, hence pdfs

but again if I took all my bird guides plus camera manuals in paper, the weight would exceed my gear, changing a few memory bits from blank to a camera manual weighs nothing

---------- Post added 06-21-22 at 05:49 PM ----------

Taking this further, letís imagine you are processing some raw shots in the Pentax photo utility. It should mimic your camera settings in the ranges of adjustments, and allow you to transfer them back to your camera as a custom raw to jpeg setting

I donít know about the rest of you but I often go places where I donít have any connection, but I have all my camera manuals on my iPad, why should I just assume that the internet is every where, it isnít. Until the internet is everywhere we need manuals, books , pdfs, and should have the right to look up information the way we want, and not driven by the need to fuel profits of major corporations whos only interest in putting things on line is their profits, NOT your convenience

I am always interested in a good pack, but what I find disappointing with the web page is that you can’t even assess the pack. There is no photo of the strap / harness system, nor the interior, and not even really any dimensions you can use. There are no descriptions of the interior and any auxiliary pockets and spaces etc…

So unless you know someone who has one, you will simply pass this by

Edit note.

I found by pressing on the image, (no indication it was a link) I went to another page that gave more details.

So this is a pair of padded bricks that can be installed in a regular backpack

Still I don’t see enough on the straps, to see the adjustments.

Compatible lens hoods for SMC Pentax 55mm F1.8

Years and years ago, there was a spreadsheet posted here that allowed one to pick the right length hood for a lens depending on the following

The diameter of the hood,
The diameter of the front element (usually maximum aperture x focal length)
How far the front element is set back from the filter threads.
The body format. Full frame or APSC

With these 4 parameters you can determine the maximum length before vignetting.

Check out the two links in this post

Apple is already moving to it. My wifeís new iPad mini is usbC so is my latest android phone, but I have a mix of usb mini, usb micro, and Apple devices, so I have a standard USB charger with 4 outlets and every possible 30 cm or shorter shandard usb to mini, micro, etc. Cables so I can charge up to 4 devices at once.

I even have a usb micro charger for the batteries for my K5 andK1. It makes life simpler
