I have to agree with JohnMc. I have experimented a bit with digitizing my color negatives, and I have found that there is not a one size fits all solution! As far as practicing, if you have the camera and macro lens, I would suggest doing a temporary setup to make a few DNG files, and have at it. I could provide you with a DNG from my setup, but the K70 file is 30MB, and the K1 makes 50MB DNGs. I don't think I could attach one here! As far as software, Raw Therapee has a negative processing profile built in. It might be a good place to start.

Good luck! You will find this to be a pleasant way to spend a rainy day!

Scanning Methods ?

Since you have all the elements to "camera scan", do a quick set up and see if the process and results suit you. All it will cost is a bit of time. I have recently experimented with using a camera and macro lens to "scan" transparencies. The result, even with a micro 4/3 camera, are much better and faster than I can get with a Canon 9000F ii. Based on that I am planning to fabricate a more permanent fixture for "camera digitizing".

Best wishes!

ME Super tool to remove ASA dial nut

Try looking for a "Camera Spanner Wrench", such as the one pictured here: 5mm Spanner Wrench Tool | USCamera | Downloads Parts Tools MoreUSCamera

I have one I got off ebay similar to this: Adjustable Camera Lens Spanner Wrench 3 Tips Flat Opening Open Repair Tool set | eBay

These are adjustable and have changeable tips to cover many tasks.

Also, is that nut a left hand thread? I think the film advance lever nut is left hand, but I don't know about the ASA dial.

Good luck!

Item Description
This is a battery grip for ZX and MZ series film cameras. It allows you to use 4 AA batteries in place of the internal lithium batteries. It has been used very little, mainly I took it out of the box and tried it out. All of my ZX cameras developed broken mirror gears, so I have no further use for it.

*ist DL Black Images

You have already tested the sensor, and it no longer works. I don't know how prevalent sensor failure is in the istDL, I have had two istDL's develop this problem, I assume the sensors have failed. Both worked one day, the next time I used the camera, I got black frames. Playing back images taken with another body works, and the menus display, so it isn't an LCD failure. Very frustrating, for sure.

You could see if the seller will take it back, or keep/sell it for the white aperture control solenoids it contains for repairing K30/50/70 bodies.

I wish I had better news for you. Best of luck with it.

NEED PART for KP Body - lens mount

The outer diameter of the WR lens mount ring is larger. Non-WR, measured on an istD, istDL and K-R = 59mm; WR = 61mm as measured on a K50, K70 and K-1. That would leave a 1mm gap all around the lens mount, and a WR lens wouldn't seal.

That would let a lot of dust, water, bugs, or whatever into the body. The screw holes to mount the ring are in the same place on both, so a non WR ring could be installed. It would be a big compromise, though.

K-70 Night Vision Setting - Make It Permanent?

It doesn't appear to be doable. Perhaps setting your background color to red and reducing the screen intensity would help, and that will persist when you turn off the power. Also, you can set the "Outdoor View " setting to -2 to darken the screen, and that setting will remain until changed. Good luck!
