Well, despite really "needing" a lens 20mm or wider for fullram/135 format, I have the FA77 coming. It will not arrive for march but now I think of letting go the Takumar 105mm and 85mm F1.9 to justify that lens (I have the Helios 40 left, which is a real carry weight but still a 85mm for my SPF, in case I will need it. To get a more light month I am thinking between the Mir-37 lens (37mm), the Pentax SMC-M 28mm, the Voigtländer Color-Ultron 50mm or the Ricoh Theta V. Maybe you'll help me decide before tomorrow comes

Oh no, I am only the second one to write a sum up???

I shot daily but was not able to post every day. Something what probably wouldnt change.
Playing with Pentax 67 lenses can be fun. These lenses were made to a super high standard. Because of that they perform even on much smaller an much more demanding sensors equally well. That said, you always carry the glass and the construction as well which was calcluated for the film format oc 56x70mm² in the first place. If someone owns the new professionals tele-zooms with F2.8 I think the difference is not that big, but compared to a FA 100-300 lens, the Pentax 6x7 300mm lenses are at least double in size. I made it open before the month started to use the lens on different cameras but in the end had only time to run around the house once and filing a slide film with my Pentax 67II. The aim was not for single challenge, but to compare the old 300mm Pentax 67 lenses to each other. Guess what, I handheld shot both lenses at F4 and F8. It was a bright day so no shake. The scans showed me one thing clearly. If I hadn't made notes, in normal conditions, there is no difference to see. So why pay the premium on the newest 300mm Pentax 6x7 lens? The first difference you see is that the ED IF version comes with an own tripod mount. If you start focusing, the IF really stands out. While the older lenses needed to be moved completely, meaning all the glass, you need your whole hand to focus. The if is that smooth, that you can walk with two fingers over the focusing grip and focus. That said, I not perform any comparison on the K-1 with both lenses. The K-1 might be more demanding, but even there I can not imagine that the classis 300mm lens from the Pentax 6x7 system is a complete dog. If there would be some interrest, I might redo the test on the K-1.
Now to the lens. It was a pleasure to use. It is so incredible how small the depth of field is on a 300mm lens on a fullframe sensor already. I discovered much more often that after taking the first shot wide open I had to redo it with a much smaller F-Stop. Regardles that "issue" everything I threw on that lens was handled well. Hard contrasts, extreme colors, shooting in direction of light sources. If I would use that lens on a daily basis, the only thing I wished for was that it was smaller. The closer minimal focusing distance compared to the classical 6x7 version comes in handy if you want to seperate some details from the background. If I want to do it in points (10 is good, 0 is catastrophic)
Lens handling 10
Perfomrance 10
Close focusing 8
Value for money 7 (10 if you own a 6x7 and a 645 because then you will never need a different 300mm)
weight when used on fullframe or smaller 5

Ollala, I will try to pick up the game once more.
Long time not being active though.

My lens will be the Pentax 67 M* 300mm F4 ED.
I still do not know if I will stick to my Pentax K-1 or if I take it someday on the Pentax 6x7 (yes its FILM), the Pentax 645nII (that is film too) and the Q7.
So if I grow bored of the K-1 I will use something else and if I go analog, it might take some more days before the film is developed (home dev and home scan)

I'm looking forward for this month :D

I have such a tight schedule, that I literally dont find time for anything in advance. I posted the shots with the fisheye I got digitalized from April in the daily group on flickr. Sorry to not find time for any further actions.

I will try to participate. However, I have enough of Pentax Q Toylenses and feel not fit for some wide open 110 lenses action.

What about coupling the Schneider-Kreuznach 25mm F0.95 with the Q-7? Might become a month of Bon-Q Bokeh :D

make it half a stop lighter but reduce contrast to get more details out
Next, apply curves with a slight inverted S-curve
apply shadows and higlights (push shadows about 5, pull highlights about 10)
play a bit with saturation and vibrance (it yould use some more sat)
Play with hue and color management. (more greens and blues in the shadows and more yellow in the highlights)
Apply with a new layer a mask (graduation tool) to darken the mountains for more contrast
Apply another mask to lighten the foregroung
soft sharpening

alltoghether 10 minutes. Now would be fine tuning.

Third visit for my P67 in the repair shop. I hope it gets well soon, so that I can start shooting it again. However, one roll survived (almost) and I will scan it asap.

Sad story continues. The Problem with the meter was the switch which is triggered by the pin in the lens locking mechanism. After Starting with a new Film, On the second exposure the Mirror stays up again and the curtaint open aswell. Because of this the camera got repaired in the first place. Now it is going back and another film is wasted. its real PITA

The Problem can have two reasons.
The Switch withing the lens lock mechanism is not switching on the power for the manual circuit
There is a problem with the viring to the contact for the prism.

My Pentax 67 is at the camera doctor again. It is a minor issue but it is sometimes really bad behaviour.
The Camera got repaired in the first time because of a broken shutter (second curtain stayed open in 4/5 times. This works now perfectly but the Camera simply refuses to turn on the Light meter, as soon as I use extension rings. So when the first film is developed (slides Fuji Astia) I might be able to post something. Otherwise I can go really crazy on my Q7 and Fisheye since I have no other camera to carry about :D

I hope the repair guy finds the problem and wont charge me another time.

Hi to all,
I will make photos (almost) every day. Pentax 67 and the 105 (Takumar Edition) it is. Scanning will take some time and I will not have much time because of exams and projects which have to be finished this month. I Hope this partial taking part is okay to all of you.

I see all these pretty pictures, but somehow I am too busy now and find no time in postprocess and post mine, let alone commenting your nice results.

So far, giving the Q7 paired with the 02 some love and taking the P67 and the 35mm fisheye on a run. One BW film already went through and one redscale is finished too and gets developed tomorrow. The last colorfilm fron january is ready to pickup so I guess things are going, even If I am this month like the second half of the last one, I am more a silent participant.

However, the Q-ing is goint on. The toy lenses are about to come the next months aswell as the 110 lenses (got em all) and a C-Mount Schneider Kreuznach Xenon 25mm F/0.95 are ready to go.
