What??? The K-3 introductory price was 1299 USD. So if it hits the market near that price it won't be a new product targeting richer people, it will definitely the successor to the K-3/K-3II. K-3K-3II owners will buy it and not wait for your so called K-3II successor!

Did you get them repaired under warranty or was the school considered a commercial entity and excluded from a warranty repair?

I process most of my digital photos with DXO photoLab 3.3 but I never upload to Flickr via DXO. I use the up load feature in Flickr which works 98% of the time without any problems unless Flickr is having issues.

Not quite most of the cases like this in the U.S. are Pro Bono where the attorney collects if the case is won, so in essence the "customers" are not really out a bundle. Some cases like this have merit, but some don't.

Ian, I certainly hope your attempt at helpfulness doesn't contribute to Ricoh/Pentax withdrawing sales of Pentax cameras from the North American market as a result of excessive awards. Where is your dog in this fight? I'm not sure if you are aware of the litigiousness of United States society right now. For example when my wife I and sit down to dinner with the television on we are inundated with commercials for attorneys touting how much money they might win for their clients, its getting sickening to me. One can't watch 15 minutes of television without hearing about the "Largest Personal Injury Law Firm in the US". Quite a boon for the local television stations but is total pollution of the airways in my opinion.

This woman who is the original Plantiff in this action probably stands to get very little in compensation for her troubles while the attorney stands to reap a nice tidy sum, Hmmmmm.

Here's a suggestion just for the News and Rumors section and no other area of Pentax Forums. Why not have a thumbs down just like the thumbs up for each post. Doing this would allow someone to express their disagreement with a post without getting into endless back and forth exchanges that eventually end up in the closure of an otherwise good thread discussion. Just a suggestion.

I too think that outside this section of Pentax Forums the discussions are very civil and often enlightening.

Once you get PhotoLab 3 set up there are some very good turorials on line. This one is very comprehensive Efficiency with DxO PhotoLab by a gentleman named Pacsal Pele'. Take your time learning PhotoLab.

Here is some additional info to use to familiarize yourself with DXO PhotoLab DxO PhotoLab par l'utilisateur

Are you using PhotoLab 3.3? There is no reason to use plugins at all if you are using PhotoLab plus I'm not sure if you are getting the benefits of the Prime Noise reduction algorithm when developing RAWs in Lightroom with DXO Plugins.

Additionally, the results of DXO Prime noise reduction can not be seen until the export of the RAW to JPEG. So for a true comparison you must fully process the RAW file to JPEG in both Programs for a true comparison.

As long as the original is a RAW file and not JPEG. DXO photoLab Prime doesn't denoise JPEGs.

Hands down you can't beat DXO PhotoLab Elite's Prime noise reduction for noiseless images. I tried Topaz and others and you can't beat DXO PhotoLab. You can get a 30 day freetrial with PL 3.3 Elite give it a try to see for yourself. You will need to also download the K-50 optics module and the program should recognize what ever lens you are using and download the proper lens optics module.

I took a series of these shots and this little bee was in one of them, I never saw him as I was shooting in live view zoomed in with focus peaking.

My K-50is still chugging on along bought on Dec 11, 2013 ser# 4706482, I'm assuming it has the white solenoid because it was lightly used until I bought my K-3 in Nov of 2014. I check the K-50 every couple of weeks. I just don't see this lawsuit getting anywhere, but one never knows.

St. Peter's by the Lake
by Larry Mc, on Flickr

Every time I shoot with this little Gem, I'm impressed all over again. This little lens is magic and in my non expert opinion it is more impressive than the DA*11-18 that I have had and used since I won it last year. There is just something about the little Limited's rendering that makes me say WOW. The DA*11-18 is an impressive lens in so many ways but its rendering is more "clinical" than the 15 Limited is. I wish I had the DA*11-18 with me yesterday for a comparison but I had my PLM and the 15 Limited with me at the time.
