M42 adaptor with the pins cut off

Based on that picture I am not sure that is an OEM adapter. Hard to tell from the picture but mine looks a lot better machined than that one. I would return it as not as described unless the pictures clearly showed it without the spring lock.

Pentax- DA 60-250 f/4

Asking Price
400.00 USD

Item Location

Item Description
Moving sale, lots of things have to go!

Pentax DA 60-250 f/4 with box, paperwork, hood, front and rear caps, oem pouch and tripod foot.

This lens has had the APS-C baffle removed and replaced with a 3-D printed one that allows use of FF.

This lens suffered SDM failure last summer and was fully repaired with a new motor by Advance Camera in Portland Oregon.

The glass is excellent, body also. One of my most used lenses on APS-C but on FF I have not used it as much. Moving to smaller house and things must go.

Pentax-A 20mm f/2.8

Asking Price
500.00 USD

Item Location
Oregon (United States)

Item Description
Pentax-A 20mm f/2.8. Full frame wide angle

Lens is in good condition. Looks good, works good. There are some tiny cleaning marks on the front glass. Very hard to see but there if you use a flashlight and look close.

Includes a Pentax cloth pouch which I do not think is original to this lens but fits well. No front cap but it does have a Pentax brand skylight filter on.

Shipping and Paypal are on me. I would like to get $500 but make me a fair offer and we will see.

Here is the list, make me a fair offer if interested in any item. All items are good or better condition, some are in 'like new' condition. All work, no fungus, only minor dust as to be expected. I am in the process of moving so posting good images will be difficult but I can do so if needed. $450 for all or make offers on any item you are interested in.

All come with front and rear caps, some original some not.

Pentax-F lenses:

Pentax-F 1.7x AF adapter - Excellent $200

Pentax-F 35-70 f/3.5-4.5 - Excellent $35 Sold

To test for dust spots go outside and shoot a clear blue sky with an aperture setting of f/16 or f/22. This will show any / all dust spots quickly.

Left lenses in basement for two day-what should I do

I'm not sure about that. You would be surprised at the number of Pentax lenses I have bought from basements. Including a pristine F 50mm f/1.4 for $50 and a bunch mint Takumars. Of course I have found my share with fungus as well and the Pixie Dust was definitely gone from those.

Worrying about what? 65 F and 90% humidity is normal where I live.........................

Unless they were wet when you put them away I do not see anything to be concerned about. Now if you left them there for a couple decades then you might want to worry.

Sort of two different things. Kelvin is a way of measuring the color of light and has nothing to do with the type of bulb. You can get 5000K bulbs in LED, incandescent or CFL.

That said, these days LED is the way to go though they might be a bit more expensive. In this application it would be worth it as the heat generated is much lower.

I've no suggestion on a collection service. Except to say that if you have an ebay seller who will not post and is not responsive enough to let you know if he can box it I would use extreme caution in dealing with them. Unless the lens is unobtainable anywhere else I would not risk my money.

And please do not depend on ebay protecting you if the deal goes bad. I can tell you from experience that they will not.

PhotoPills | Shoot legendary photos

I do not think anything Pentax does this but the software above does. Along with an incredible number of other things. If you are trying to determine when and where to set up for sunrise / sunset or any kind of astrophotography do yourself a favor and spend a few pounds and get this for your phone / tablet.

I rarely (almost never) recommend anything to anyone but this is an exception. Simply amazing.

Recommendations for Substitute for Kit Lens (18-55 DAL)

For APS-C zooms in order of image quality you have:
DA 18-55

DA 18-135
DA 16-85
DA*16-50
The 18-135 is very good and a significant step up. The 16-85 is IMHO a bit better particularly on the edges than the 18-135 but much shorter focal range. The 16-50 is a '*' lens and f/2.8, but a lot more money. Any of these will be better than what you have.

There are also third party lenses in the 17-50 range but I have no experience with them.

645Z vs. Fuji MFD Mirrorless
Posted By jatrax

I tend to agree on this. I do not shoot MF but I suspect most who do are using a tripod most of the time because of the nature of the photography and the weight of the gear. And to me mirrorless on a tripod works. When on a tripod I almost always use liveview on the K-1, so adapting to mirrorless for this use case makes sense.

The 645z weighs 1550g and the Fuji GFX50s weighs 825g, just slightly more than half of the 645z. That is a significant difference.

The huge attraction to me for Pentax has always been the huge number of relatively cheap vintage lenses available. But sometimes it is better to just have one really good lens that works rather than a bunch of old ones sitting on the shelf.

Wish I could help the OP with the lens questions, but I'm sure someone else will show up who can.

Not all lenses will be the same so a spanner that works well on one brand might not be 'best' on another. Get a decent one that is adjustable and don't fret over it. UNless you intend to do a lot of lens repair. My 'best' spanner is actually a set of draftsman's dividers I picked up at a yard sale for $2. Whatever works.

One trick when concerned about springs and contacts is to do the tricky bits with the lens inside a large plastic bag. Sort of like a glove box. If things go sprong at least all the pieces are in the bag.

Screw drivers MAY be a problem. Many lenses use JIS screws, not Philips. They look similar but are not. It is quite easy to ruin a JIS screw with a Philips driver.

My kit includes:
- parts box
- several types of tweasers
- several magnifiers
- spanner
- JIS screwdrivers
- needle nose pliers
- magnetic pickup

Ricoh Imaging R02010 (code name)

One thing that is usually missed in these discussions about which is (or is not) the "flagship" is what "flagship" means after going through several language translations.

It is generally accepted here that "flagship" means a top level, prosumer or better body. Best, and most expensive in a particular line with the newest and highest level tech.

But allowing for translation differences it can mean something as simple as "newest" or "next".

I am not saying this is the case, I have no more information than anyone else. But it is possible that when the KP was announced and the word "flagship" associated with it, all that was meant by Ricoh was the "next APS-C body". This new rumor about a K-70 successor can mean just that. The "next APS-C body", without any qualifications of where that potential body might lie in our artificial organization chart.

It seems logical to assume that there should be a good, better, best body lineup in APS-C. And that all of those slots should be filled. But what if that is not the case? Try a paradigm shift where instead of building out three different lines they just build one new APS-C camera at a time and it fits into no particular 'slot'. Just what they build.
