Just back from a wonderful week in this city that never sleeps. As a small-town Dutchman I'm amazed at supermarkets that are open 24/7 and have espresso counters but also the number of Bird scooters in use around town, the Get taxi app, professional dog walking services and more. In between all of that modern life experience, TLV remains a city with a Mediterranean, somewhat Middle-Eastern vibe and that mix is fascinating to watch and experience. Where we have big discussions in Europe, here various cultures and religions seem to mix and mingle almost effortlessly. Is it only wonderful? No, tempers are short and the real service-experience is almost non-existent. Things we tend to take for granted such as common courtesy and friendly service are somewhat hard to come by.

It is indeed the Revuenon at f1.2 - I never shoot anything at f16 or more due to the horrific diffraction at such small apertures. Also, the background here is distracting and uninteresting, I wanted to focus the attention on the rusty ring, the wood and the rope.

Thanks for commenting!

Used live view and focus peaking because my other MF shot were just off. The tiny sliver of sharpness needs to be exactly right for the image to spring to life.

Agree, I've never quite understood these questions. To me it sounds like "I'm going outside, what lenses should I use?". Whatever you bring with you, you'll always leave the one lens you at some point desperately need at home. On the other hand, bringing everything almost guarantees you won't leave the hotel for fear of either breaking your back or having your hotel room ransacked. I'd almost quote 1949 Danny Kaye's Inspector General: "Be elegant, be arrogant, be smart!"

Mine is a Kenko 2x Pz-AF, hardlu what I would call a "name-brand" but I tend to make sparing use of it on some manual lenses only.

Pixel Shift processing in Raw Therapee.. saving to a tiff
Posted By newmikey
Replies: 15

What seems to be your problem? Pixel shift does exactly that i.e. it captures 4 distinct and separate images in quick succession, nothing to do with interpolation. Some raw developers such as RT actually know how to recombine these four individual images into one.

---------- Post added 04-15-19 at 02:59 PM ----------

The resulting TIFF file probably ends up in another directory than the raw itself and the pp3 sidecar unless you specified a precise location. Just try searching for it with your file manager. Or point LR to the correct location of course.

You are absolutely correct on all points. I would not use DT and Hugin this way but the TS wanted to know whether it is possible. It is.

In the case of DT the answer is no. DT analyzes near-horizontal and near-vertical straight lines in the image and tries to adjust them to absolute vertical and/or horizontal, regardless of the lens used.

Why would you even want to do that, use auto perspective adjustment on a panorama with that much deformation? I don't think that's what the module was intended for to begin with.

K70 as a K5 upgrade?

Thanks for clearing that up. I hadn't seen you discuss any Pentax camera on this forum, ever. When you introduced yourself back in 2016 (and only 15 posts separate you from that introduction) you claimed hands-on experience with a K-1000, K100D, K10D, K-7 and K-5. I've tried to look up any of your posts "discussing" any of those cameras and came up empty-handed. I've also not noted any image posts, editing contributions/experience or meaningful lens tests/reports.

Yet you now choose to suddenly "contribute" a discussion about the K-70, basically spreading quite a bit of FUD. I'm here to do exactly what you claim you are doing, only I've got some 1700+ posts to back that statement up.

So my question remains: why are you here?
