Replacement DA50-200

I had both the Da-L & currently the DA 50-200mm ED WR and have been happy with the sharpness quality once I adjusted the lens to match with my camera. Granted it isn't DA* quality. Plus having the ability to quick shift helps dial it in even more. I also have the Da 50-300mm non PLM and still use my 50-200mm more mainly because it's smaller and lighter for hand carrying. Neither is going really to sharp at full zoom.

K-3 and P TTL vs TTL

For what your trying to do your much better off purchasing one of the wireless trigger systems that supports HSS such as the Cactus V6ii. With that you'll be able to control your flash output much better then trying to use a camera fired wireless pttl flash in sunlight.. Check Adorama, B&H or KEH you might pick up some for around your budget used.

Obviously, you haven't re-read what you wrote in the manner it is put forth...... A simple switch of two words, a commas and question marks would have been so much clearer... Ie: accusatory VS inquisitive... Do you not do shopping online? ... and to go on, again VS.... Do you still watch B/W with no remote, no internet, no LCD TV? You do have a cell phone, don't you?

You see command of the written language can be a powerful thing if one uses it properly. Then again if used improperly it can make one seem not so intelligent.... That sir is my intelligence difference I clearly understood what you were meaning to say but the way you wrote it degraded it's purpose, turning it away from the point you intended.

You want a FB link to a site, easy start your own but in the mean time how about respecting the wishes of the Admin and the majority of the group. I believe as a whole you'll find most in this group are very technology, internet & social media literate.

Food for thought; Proof read what you post. When posting If your going to put forth a thought provoking comment at least put it forth in an intelligible manner, Your last comment construction for the most part makes no sense for what your attempting to put forth, which only succeeds in making the read laughable.

I owned the Vanguards and they are decent but I've been partial to using Manfrotto for the past few years. Right now there is a really good deal on Adorama for the Manfrotto MHXPRO-BHQ6- XPRO with a Platypod Pro Max Plate, with a mail in rebate works out to $219.00

Sometimes when you take out card 1 if the camera is started up without it the camera default selects card 2 and will remain on it even when re-inserting card 1 unless card 2 is removed allowing the camera to default back to card 1.. Easy fix, take both cards out of the slot and re-insert card 1 restart the camera, shut it off then re-insert card 2. Now your camera should re-default to reading card 1....

Pentax ME focusing screen for Pentax K-3

Why bother, with the K3 you could either use CIF or live view peak focusing and do a better job focusing then trying the manual screen's focus.

The cactus RF60X does not operate the Triggers when its in M mode

Is the RF60X mounted directly to the camera hot shoe or is it mounted on top of a v6ll to the camera? If mounted through to a v6ll then the camera I believe you would need to enable ttl passthrough on the v6ll.

It's a simple adjustment in Lightroom as bshiver11 mentions and illustrates. Only a little different by using your Color Adjustment/ blue channel hue, saturation & luminance you can adjust out the blue cast and give it a more natural look.

That's how Canon, Nikon, Sony etc. suck you in. By coming out with new stuff every 6 months to a year they created the got to have newer and better syndrome. Usually those dissatisfied with their own talent like to blame it on the gear so instead of putting sincere effort to learn they chase whatever the marketing strategies are putting out there and switch companies based on the feature hype instead of learning what they have and improving their skills. Regardless of all the new fancy features nothing can replace solid knowledge of composition, lighting, exposure and the skill to use it. So if you feel the need to chase something different be our guest & good luck to you.

PS... Anybody who puts much credence in Tony Northup or Ken Rockwell is in deep toro poo poo

LapLink has been around for many years. We used to use it when I was working in the computer and office equipment industry. I'm sure the software has improved greatly since then. However I still find it better off going through the hassle of reinstalling your software on the new machine, then copy over your documents photos etc. To me there's nothing like a fresh install. Computers are like kids with messy rooms stuff is scattered all over so when trying to copy programs sometimes the new machine can't locate files needed for it to run the software correctly or even at all. Then that is not withstanding copied registry issues that can arise and be difficult to fix.

Sometimes it's best to go to the MFG community boards for answers or information. Cactus has a very active one to address questions. Perhaps this may help your understanding. Read through it as it addresses the xbrand incompatable TTL issue.

K-3 and Deported pentax flashes in HSS possible?

As Kobie mentions you need a minimum of 2 Hss compatible to optically trigger in that mode but take 3 Cactus V6ll, one as a trigger and two receivers and what flash you use for hss wont matter plus with the V6ll transmitter/receivers you gain better control over your flash lighting over all.

To my knowledge to use your existing af 360 fgz flash for HSS the addition of the Cactus V6ll wireless would allow you to achieve that.

Flash issues on K-1 II

Don't forget when using a flash your dealing with two separate exposures. 1st being your ambient light the 2nd being your flash exposure. What affects your flash lighting is power and distance. If the power is full then the distance will affect how much light the subject receives. Bounce flash, distance and color one is bouncing off of can affect it. So if your exposures are too dark then you compensate by moving your flash lighting closer. adjusting your ambient light settings or adjusting how your using your flash lighting.

Too much postprocessing?

LOL... The age old discussion...Who among us were at that location at the exact same time, at the exact position, looking at the same angle, with the exact same light? Who's to say what's right or wrong, I imagine the photographer in question saw, captured and recreated in the manner he visioned it in the photo posted.

I ask, how many times you've seen something rich with color that's out of the ordinary, had your exposure correct, set up your composition, snapped the photo, excitedly anticipating what it will look like then got home and see the software's rendition is not what you recall. What do you do, leave it as the computer's rendition of it is or try post processing to regain the rich colors you remember it was at the time you captured it. So you process it for what you remembered and post it for other's to see.

Ah but someone else came by there a half an hour later and snapped a photo of the same scene, the composition was alike but the colors were different and not as rich but they really liked the composition and they process theirs with less color showing in their composition.

Both get posted on the internet, so some look at yours and critique your photo as being over processed because that rich color you saw and captured isn't what most see in that scene normally opposed to the other more normal photo.

Which is correct? I say both because each is portraying the scene as the photographer captured it, remembered it and is trying to portray it.. Whether you like one over the other is a matter of interpretation. As we see some people take a scene they captured and re-colorize it in post to make it more pleasing to them. So what, to argue which is better is silly because we each have different ideas of what we like and dislike. Just because I don't care for what someone else is portraying or has done in post doesn't make theirs wrong.

ACR and Camera Profiles in Lightroom

Correct, there comes a point in time where older Adobe versions wont support newer updates. In your case, according to Adobe compatibility charts, for your Lightroom 6 the last compatible version is 10.1 so with your version ACR 11.1 wont be supported.
