That's one reason I'm glad the hood on my 35mm 2.8 macro is integrated. I have enough trouble keeping track of the hoods for all my lenses

I don't remember the date, but this Sunset was taken with my first "real camera". I bought a K1000 in 1977 and took to shooting a lot of slide film (Ektachrome, I think)

No, but just think about all the "eye-popping" going on when you tell your friends what you paid for it:cool: And the listing does say to make an offer;) I'd say 10 bucks just to get the ball rolling. Seriously...

I just wrote a thoroughly heart-breaking post to beg for help only to have it get lost when I clicked "preview Post" sooooo..........
Long story short-I had my K3 proud owner signature down pat so I decided to add my K20D, K1000, and SPII to it. I spent numerous hours trying but ended up with a lonely K20D banner before I kinda gave up.
If anybody has a set of simple (very) easy to follow (very) instructions on how to accomplish using my 4 cameras as my signature I would be forever thankful.

I'm trying to make my K3, K20D, Spotmatic SPII, and my K1000 stacked vertically as my signature. All I can come up with (after a couple dozen tries) is the k3, k20, and Spotty listed horizontally. I would usually ask what I'm doing right because it's a shorter list, but can anybody help me? I am computer literate, but I just can't wrap my head around the signature in's and out's. And no, I haven't read every page of this thread but I may be doing so after Soshe June's Vet appointment at 6:00 PM. This is her hamming it up for the camera. I used my phone camera cause it was one of those "catch it now or lose it" moments.

Just offhand, I can't think of anything else that I have left over from that year. 1978 was my first year with an SLR. I remember telling my wife that I wanted to get a "Real" camera and got the K1000 at K-mart:cool: Anyway, getting off the macro track so I'd better stop reminiscing on this thread and post a couple photos with my Pentax M 100mm macro and my first DSLR, the K10D. This was my second dedicated macro lens after the 50mm 1:4 macro. I was testing what I had read about ways of figuring out how much magnification a lens produced in February of 2012. (Well, maybe a little reminiscing)

Exactly and Amen! I have the Pentax 35mm 1:2.8 limited and a Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG Macro. I use both a LOT more as "regular" lenses than I do macro.

I've been trying since about 1978 when I used a reversal adapter on my K1000 with my Pentax A 50mm 1:2. Yeah, those were the days  (I still have the adapter)

I finally caught up to the baby bunny that lives under our shed sitting out it our yard enjoying the breeze. It gave me enough time to throw on my 70-300mm Sigma APO 1:4-5.6 and crank it up to 300mm. The other couple are "grownups" that I caught out in the back yard with the Sigma 105mm 1:2.8 DG macro.
Unless they start doing handstands, I promise not to keep posting photobunnies every day.

I'll have to pull that squirrel up and show my Mom & Dad next time I go down to their house. She'll Love it! ( It is a great shot, by the way!) They feed the local birds, squirrels, chipmunks, and deer (whitetails) around their house. The occasional black bear stops by to visit but doesn't eat much.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I stopped hunting about 40 years ago. That, and having to push my oldest son down behind a log because of the other deer hunters bullets flying through the trees right over our heads:confused: (I never did shoot a deer so I guess I was supposed to stop hunting anyway)

Thank you everyone! It's not usually a problem because I have an o-me53 eyecup on my K3 and it is easy to shade with my hand, but for those unique moments I do have a couple of the viewfinder caps.

These are what we have around here. They are called Eastern Cottontails. We have a lot of them around our house year long. This was a quick shot with my K3 and the Smc PENTAX-DA 18-135mm F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR earlier this month.

Here in Pennsylvania that is what we call a "Jackrabbit". Our local ones are just 'bunnies" by comparison. We have a rabbit family living under our shed but I've yet to be able to sneak around the corner for a photo yet. Even the baby ones are are to smart for me. I've never tried "catch-in-focus before so it may be a good time to try it out.

Viewfinder question

This should be a simple question for someone "in the know". Back in the day (K1000 era) I knew that light coming in through the viewfinder would change the exposure settings. My Question is; Does light coming in through the viewfinder on my K20 or my K3 have an effect on exposure settings? Thank you all ahead of time! I been shooting photos for about 40 years and it makes me feel good about coming across things I don't know about it. (which is every time I even think about the cameras!)

K20D viewfinder glass?

That's one of my main concerns and what would happen if I got glass inside the camera. I do know that there is another piece of glass behind the broken one. I can still see through it but it is a royal pain. I guess I'll keep searching.(at least it gives me something to do)

Does anybody know where I can find a replacement glass for my K20d's viewfinder? I've pretty much exhausted my search parameters up to and including sending it away for $212.00.

I've got one that I haven't used since about 1980. It has 49mm threads as I used it with my 50mm lens. Here are a couple quick shots of it. I would sell it for 5 bucks and I will pay the postage.
