A few FA*600 on ebay now.

kind of odd.

There is one on auction, exact same images as a FA*600 from a South Korean seller.

Wonder which is the real one which is the joker.

Import tax / GST threshold

This is really quite very high percentage of VAT plus import duty.
Almost is ridiculous.

No wonder no European buyers even if i priced quite a bit lower than usual.

Some people might want "insurance", and thats where things get a bit problematic.

For example, lets say, someone in USA get a lens from someone in UK.

Let's say, the lens was bought for USD900.
So, if the buyer wants insurance for the lens at USD900, then it will be declared for USD900.

Cant quite possibly want insurance for USD900 and then declare as USD700.

Import tax / GST threshold

hi fellow members.

just wanted to check, on what be the import tax / GST threshold for whichever country you be from.

I mean, for example, for USA, i found information (online) which indicate the threshold to be USD800 (which is rather very generous actually).

(i am not sure, i just googled and found somewhere which stated that. Does that USD800 threshold apply federally? Or that figure is dependent on which State the person is residing?)

Which means, for example, if the value of an item is declared to be USD700, then the package will not be hit with import tax/GST, since it is below USD800.

just wondering and wanted to learn as well, because have had potential buyers who were hesitant of getting items from me, as they worry about getting hit with import tax / GST.

Any Aussie and Kiwi members could share, what's the threshold for Australia and NZ?

What about countries in the European Union?
(And what about the UK?)

Contax/Yashica Adaptall mount adapter

hoping any fellow member/s who might have knowledge on this, could shed some light.

I have a few Adaptall lenses, which sometimes use with my Pentax digital and film bodies.

Am looking at getting a Tamron Adaptall adapter for Contax / Yashica mount (CY mount), to use with the Contax RX that i also use.

Any member could shed some light on whether there be a certain model of the Tamron Adaptall CY mount adapter that i should look for, if i want to be able to use Aperture Priority mode on the Contax RX?

I had a look at ebay, but seems all the Adaptall CY mount adapters, looked like just plain on the back (like the KM mount, instead of the PKA ones).
So, was wondering if those will offer use of Aperture Priority mode on the Contax RX.

I have a somewhat indulgent spouse.
But that indulgence, has some limit.

i think i just crossed the line into "no-mans land".

Been ordered to relook at the lens collection AND, to let go some of them, or else .....
Unless some go, nothing else can come in. gulp.

i sometimes wonder, how many members here, have multiple copies of the exact same lens.

(Came across a post where member fwcetus was sharing he once had 3 copies of F*300)

For those who do, why / what is it that makes one get two or three copies of the exact same lens.
(Goodness knows, anyone who might have 4 copies of same lens).

Maybe, fear of some accident happening and one gets smashed beyond recognition?
(Or fear of a lens being afflicted with fungus and so, get two copies?)

Perhaps, member thinks a particular lens / lenses is just such an object of beauty, more the merrier?

Or, whatever the reason it might be.

Be interesting to hear what members have to share.

First things first.
Dont think should talk actual figures on potential sale of preowned items.

Two sides to it, really.

Assuming all factors more or less same (ie, both cosmetically very good, glass clear, etc).

while the DA*300 likely should fetch more, that also may mean it could be a bit harder to sell.

Both FA*300 and DA*300 are desirable lenses. More likely than not, always there is a ready pool of potential buyers (and more a matter of, among them, who be ok to cough up X dollars or xx dollars to get what they want).

so, if availability of tripod collar is important to you, and a shorter min focus distance, then should keep DA*300.

Thanks AstroDave.

yes, indeed, they seem to be ridiculously overpriced.

For CS-205, there is the possibility of using the Canon RS-60 something etc.
(And even the preowned Canon-branded ones are much cheaper than preowned Pentax one).

But for CS-310, will have to look at JJC ones (which apparently will work just as well).

Dont think there be any problem.

One of my D-Li90 (bought two years ago in 2018), manufactured in year 2012.

It performs just as fine as another D-Li90 i have which was manufactured in 2016.

yeap, correct.

It is the "tele-macro" 400 AF prime.
Very handy minimum focussing distance of about 1.6 metres.
(That's about the distance i snapped the MZ-3 body).

Relatively compact and lightweight fullframe 400mm prime.
