"The Card Is Electronically Locked"

This just happened to me last night. I tried various recovery tools to no avail. The card is sometimes non existent on some USB Card readers and others it is visible but states no data is present.

Some recovery tools see a drive size and others see a drive size of 0. I am I pooched? I had shots from an event that took place last night and got paid for. I already contacted the person and told them of the issue and am planning on returning the money that was paid out to me.

Any suggestions to recover the images would be greatly appreciated.................

No i have not but i did lurk the forums for that specific topic and they said pretty much the same as here. The main point that i would deter me from getting the Nikon for good is the built in focus that it doesnt have in that particular model D5000. I cannot go more than that budger hence why i was thinking of the k20d and a nice SMC Pentax-DA* 16-50mm F2.8 and a 50m FA which would cover most of what i do. However i would love to get my hands on a 85mm prime that handles good low light as well for good measure.

k20d vs nikon d5000?

i have read over your replies and i did leave out what sort of photography i would be more geared towards. Right now i have some gigs doing event photography so low light is always something to think about for me. I would like to do some outdoor shoots with models as well.
So the reason i said D5000 in my case as due to me being able to use it a couple of times after i have posted the thread. I have found that the low light VR 18-50mm kit lens that im using with the nikon did deliver better quality results. I am comparing to my current IST DL camera though.
I know that it would be better quality just due to it being a new camera. But right now budget is a dillema and some of the lenses i have seen for pentax that are worthwhile ar 450+ for the * zooms in the 2.8 range.
That being said i would like to grow into some better lenses which in my case i do not own good enough lenses to justify staying on Pentax. I do have a 50 m 1.7 which i consider the best lens i carry. Wide angle is important for the night club events that i sometimes do. Thanks for the replies and im thinking very carefully on what step to do but i must act fast becuase i want to upgrade as soon as possible.

Is there any merit in comparing these two camera bodies, leaving out the video capabilities? The reason is because I am contemplating on moving to that system however i do love Pentax....so..hence my question.

Thanks

I would have to say, the image creates the title and caption. For myself whatever comes to mind that doesn't seem to obscure. However, sometimes i do tend to think about it too much and revert back to my original thought.

One of the few places that I would also like to go visit.
Absolutely incredible history there. The image that peeks out of the cavern and the image that you took looking into the doorway peek my interest. The other ones are great as well and show the whole landscape. Enjoy your trip in Petra!

This image was taken last summer when the Venezuela had a constitutional change in the way the president can continue with the maximum of 3 or 4 successive terms in office. Interesting referendum I must say.

I was talking to my wonderful sister who asked me to come over and take some photographs of her little one. I obliged and took some snapshots in my first attempt to do a 'shoot'. Used my AF360 mounted because my my battery in my trigger was used up.

Let me know what you think.

Excellent set of images. It looks like a National Geographic set. Thank you very much for sharing.

How much did a trip like this cost? What did you find to be the best lens to use on such an outing?

I really like the 5th image and the one landing in the lake. Captured the colours and the duck amazingly. I agree with the crop, a little to the right or left to get the full effect of the landing in motion. Great job non the less. I like.

Excellent images. I love the snooted lighting on the backwall. The couch adds that punch of colour that the silvers and blacks need, not to mention the model is great. I aspire to capture this sort of photograph. How long have you been doing this?

Perhaps they would like to see a spike in sales as the forecasted numbers didn't match up to what was currently sold for the last little while? Or maybe B&H is justy are just being nice in giving a discount to Pentaxians?

Sorry to hear about the loss of an excellent lens. I would keep it around just incase you do get another one and may require the parts from it. I do question however why you would have your camera on while cooking? Perhaps you wanted to take some shots of the food and was worried of it getting burned? Did you at least get some shots off afterwards or was the pain unbearable? Readers want to know :D

I also like the first shot and the last one. I was just wondering what shutter speed and ISO did you set your camera at to capture the smoke. I have been trying to study some photographs to improve my own. Thank you for sharing the images.

That is a great response. I have been overhearing the same sort of remarks. Why does it always have to be about equipment. :p I took some shots for a friend of mine in a low light situation with my af360 and my ist dl. I would say it some came out pretty ok I think. I do see some limits on my particular camera but I do love Pentax
