Asking Price
150.00 USD

Item Location

Item Description
SOLD SOLDI am selling my Lester Dine 105 macro. This is in very very nice shape...all of the marking still look like new...the entire lens is in excellent shape.

Optics are in great shape.. No scratches on the lens only very minor dust. Took me a long time to find one in this shape.

Picture quality is excellent as is the reputation for this lens.

Selling as I have a Tamron Adaptal 90mm macro 52b as well as the Adaptal 19AH and this is really just a repetitive lens. But since it is the nices of the three it would be easier to sell.

$150.00 shipped either USPS or FED EX ground whichever I find is more affordable depending on buyers location.

This is for the lens only...no case. Does have the lens and base caps.

Tamron Adaptall-2 35-70mm F/3.5 Model 17A....one of my favorites for closeup and near macro...gives me as good results as my 52bb....my copy of this is excellent in condition.

Lester Dine 105mm f2.8 1:1 Macro....for a longer range macro I love this lens. My copy is near mint.

Tamron SP 90mm F/2.5 Macro Model 52B.....Still a favorite but has some quirks with light at smaller aps..

Tamron SP 70-210mm F/3.5 Model 19AH....For a telemacro I love it as well. This is another near mint copy...after buying two previous versions that were fungus junk.

Tamron SP 35-80mm F/2.8-3.8 Model 01A...was my favorite lens but is not as minty as the others and has developed some weird focus throw issues at times. But prefer the 17A now as that copy is excellent and is a joy to use.

All Adaptall lens have a PKA mount....

I only own one auto focus lens a sigma for walk around....

So...how many of us use the photo simply as a start to something else. While I print some photo's as shot with just normal post processing there are others that are made more into...what...art maybe. Straight photo's of mine may be nice but they tend to bore me at times. Then again when you have the computers and software now it makes it fun to change what was..to something else.

This was a bubble reflection..and still is but the background was poop so now it becomes what...a hybrid between art and photography..maybe artography...hah.

Prints great on RR Polar metallic luster.

I will certainly fiddle with it more and ignore the engineer I used to work under who said to me.. "Scott...remember the enemy of good is better"

Here are a few of what I am trying to get. My wife wanted the house in one for the breezeway so i printed it out on Polar Metallic...killer.

So the one that has no color is straight dish soap no additives..no food coloring..no corn syrup etc to change viscosity etc.

The other two have "stuff" in the soap mix to add the colors etc....pretty common stuff. But fun to do and I want to go do some around more scenic areas..verses my yard.

Yah the neon colors are dependent on what additives are in the soap bubble mix and how viscous it is. Adding food coloring helps as well. The colors are not a Photoshop hue/sat enhancement and actually cut the Sat down a bit as it was a bit much originally.

Thanks guys...I am so focused on catching the bubbles in focus and watching the reflection colors change that I usually never see myself until post processing. Sometimes if I am real close....woof..it's a full view frontal of me....bad image..:-O

Hah.....I avoid my people pics and especially any of myself but some are just unavoidable.

I have been doing a bunch of bubble shots...experimenting with different solutions etc. The one slightly tricky part is not getting yourself in the reflection which is tough but anyone who does this knows it is just a matter of distance until your reflection gets distorted enough to not be an issue...but then again....sometimes we get a selfie.

Sometimes we post an abstract selfie just because......:-)

Abstract Tiger lily almost B&W

I am not sure why to be honest...I take a bunch as I have planted a bunch around the house including a large wildflower strip just for photography. Maybe just seems so common to me...you know..it looks good to me but then I think...yah but it is just another really good flower pic. Until I find a different perspective..kind of like this.
I appreciate the comment...yah I started a while back doing almost B&W as I liked it and it prints real well...kind of a slight suggestion to what was there without being total black and white. Although I do do...haha doodoo..anyway I do B&W too I kind of go by how it looks best to me..sometimes straight B&W is cool sometimes full color...you know...wasting 2 hours on one photo on post processing

I am not usually big on posting many flower shots...unless it is an unusual one..but I do like to do what I call almost B&W...since i drop sat to almost but not quite 0...just enough to leave a hint of color. I should do more B&W as really to me the light always plays better....and blown out SAT colors are no longer an issue.
But anyway this was shot in natural light in my yard...just waiting for the sun to get at a good angle...or maybe it was just luck....

The answer from precision ink was..their ink is not as good as OEM...gues no surprise....here was their response. To which i am not upset...I will just have to suck it up and go back to OEM. Might buy another Pro 100 and keep it OEM inks and use my current one with Precision inks for proofing as I never saw a color difference between the two...as far as my eyes could see so...proof with cheap inks..print with OEM.. What a shock...not.

'Your prints are being attacked by ozone gases in that environment. Our ink is not the same as OEM ink. Chromalife 100 PLUS was a big advancement over Chromalife 100. Which is close to our ink in related groups. So you will need to properly frame your prints in gas tight frames or use a different paper or use OEM ink.

Read through this thread and see what people have done and what a solution is'

Had some fun last year just trippin through the Maine woods looking for rotted fungi infested Birch logs. usually they have the good funky fungi. No flash...no HDR just using whatever light filtered through the trees...you know..old school.

I came across the pics because I was getting ready to reprint fungi2 which I had in my room printed on polar metallic..looked nice...but the humidity and 3rd party precision inks bled out all the colors.

Not award winning stuff but some good old fungus fun. Had inspiration after someone last eyar or year before did a post on lichen....but so far I haven't liked an lichen shots i took yet...I am get getting licked by lichen.

I was bored out of my skull...one cold and miserable winter day in Maine. Had nothing to do..was way too cold to go outside..temps below 0...not taking the camera out. As I stared out the window of my upstairs room hoping for spring...I just stared at a big old icicle thinking...geez I hate winter. I just sat for a long while watching it drip...and then....hey..something to waste some mega bites on. Kept me busy for a couple hours....and as always made me feel better. But no..I still do not like winter...:-)

That would be my first suspect too. I have to go look at which inks it was.

---------- Post added 08-01-18 at 01:40 PM ----------

No never...

---------- Post added 08-01-18 at 01:50 PM ----------

Actually it must be the ink. I found a print I never mounted that was printed on some Polar Metallic using the aftermarket inks and it is color loss worst of all. While the several prints that I know used the OEM Cannon inks are still perfect. So solved that one.
I was using refillables when I was doin some transfers and was not goign to spend $$$$ on Cannon inks. But that is long gone. So now I need to buy all new cartridges...oh the pain..:-)
And it was Precision Colors ink...which gets good feedback on forums....but every print bled out

---------- Post added 08-01-18 at 02:12 PM ----------

I contacted precision Colors to see what they say. But it sure is their ink as any OEM ink prints are still perfect. Interested as to what they blame it on.

Good thought but no because....actually behind the paper is the frame glass as I do not like glass either. Since these are for personal display I had no objections to reprinting them in a few years and besides I tire of looking at the same pics so I figured well...I don't like glare from glass so i will put it behind the paper that way i still have it for future use. So there is no matte board...just the Polar Matte paper..then the glass behind it then the backing board behind the glass.

I will toss this out and see if anyone knows what might cause this.

I print most of my photo's, for framing use in my house, on Red River Polar Matte paper. I just do not like myself Gloss or Satin Photo based paper..hate any sheen.

Printed using Canon Pixma Pro 100.....with refillable Ink Owl inks ( I think it was Ink Owl..). Never had any issues with their inks on photo based paper..colors were the same as OEM inks and just never had any issues.

However last year I printed and framed quite a few pics for our house. Maybe 12 on Polar Matte and 5 on RR Polar Metallic photo paper. Same inks.

What has happened on the Matte paper is every one has turned pinkish and maybe a bit cyanish. This has not occured on the metallic glossy photo papers. This seems to have occurred once we hit very humid days here in Maine in late spring.
I am guessing it is the fading of the yellow since that would cause any areas using yellow/magenta to fade to pinkish or any yellow/cyan to turn more cyanish.

Now NONE are exposed to sunlight as matter of fact most are in hallways that see little light so sun fade isn't it.

Anyone ever see this. I realize it could be inks or paper...? I am going to reprint them all...no big deal but trying to think what would cause this.

I had to activate my license for my trial period....it is on a 24 hour sale for $49.00. If anyone was thinking of getting it this is a decent price. I have used it several times as a trial and liked it just not enough to drop 99 bucks or 79 bucks. Better than what comes for software with my K3II IMHO.
So for what it was worth
