Problems Focusing on Infinity with K-70

The problem is that the lenses wonít get to infinity; just a tad short. I prefer
If they get past infinity so I could focus back to infinity. I never use AF in astrophotography and I do use iOptronís Sky Guider Pro mount. The focusing device (Bahtinov mast) is intriguing. Will explore.,

Is at times a problem, especially when I'm out in the field using the K-70 for Astrophotography. It's maddening, actually.

Am I doing something wrong? I Mainly use a Sigma DG 70-300mm lens, but also have a Rokinon 1:2.8 14mm and Pentax 18-135.

Advice both needed and appreciated.

24-day old moon shot on April 1, 2019 from the western shore of Lake Winnebago in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The moon had just emerged from a cloud bank. Used a K-70 at F5.6, 240mm Sigman DG lens (70-300mm 1:4-5.6). Exposure or 1/50th of a second at ISO 400.

Thank you everyone for your help. Searched the forums for this topic but haven't found a thread on recommendations for light pollution suppressors, or LPS.

Does anyone use LPS filters when shooting the night sky?

Many thanks. I feel a bit embarrassed. Do you know of a good live view magnifier that will fit the k-70 LCD screen? Thanks again.

Thank you for helping me stumble to the answer. Regarding Live View, is there a live view magnifier that you'd recommend? Don't want to spend a lot of money.

I like your photos, UNP. Where in Carbondale did you shoot these photos? I have a few in this thread, and you can see where in Carbondale I shot mine. Your Bailey's Beads photo isn't a beads photo in the classic sense, but it's close. That's Probably because of the milky goop we were shooting through that day. Anyway, well done!

Thank you for running the contest Adam. Everyone seemed to shoot something that they can point to with pride for the rest of their lives.

I've included some signage near the Denny's Restaurant in Carbondale, the place I choose to shoot from after I rolled into town at 3 a.m. on E-Day.

I blogged about my E-Day experiences. If interested, you can find it here: Chasing the Shadow in Carbondale

Thank you and congrats to everyone's fine photographs in a once-in-every-seven years event. See you in 2024!

Found and added couple of my photos that revealed Regulus. It appears at the 9 p.m. position next to the face of the sun/moon combination. Regulus is four-star system, almost 80 light years from us and shines at a magnitude 1.36. The so-called "heart of the lion," Regulus is the brightest star in the constellation of Leo the Lion. In the northern hemisphere, Leo rises is an early spring constellation. When we see Regulus rising in the northeast in the early evening, we know that we've seen the best that winter can dish out and spring is coming quick.
