Help removing a water spot on element.

It doesn't look that bad, honestly. I agree that unless it's affecting image quality, you might as well leave it since the teardown may not be worth the risk of damaging something, and these sorts of things don't typically have too much of an impact on image quality if they're on the front element.

Any Shutter problems with K3ii beyond its estimated lifespan

Depending on what the camera's being used for (especially sports), 200,000 actuations in 3 years is doable. My K-5 IIs is over the 100,000 rated for it and most of those happened in about 2 years shooting sports.

Rubber grip has become loose. how to fix?

That's actually a really clever idea and I may have to try this on my Tamron 28-75 that has a loose rubber zoom ring grip. Might actually make the lens more comfortable to hold, too.

Is this fungus?

The bottom of the element seems to resemble fungal growth, although not really anything typical, more like something I'd see on a petri dish. That or it might be haze, but either way you should be able to clean it if you remove the front element.
Forum: Troubleshooting and Beginner Help 08-01-2018, 08:20 AM
Perhaps a silly question: Is it haze or just overexposure?

Have you inspected the lens elements by shining a flashlight through them? You can usually see haze developing on the inside that way and it has a bit of a fuzzy look to it. If you can't see anything, it's probably not haze. I'd probably inspect the lens you used to take that second picture.

24-90 f/4 might be a bit too much to ask but I wouldn't mind a newer version of the FA 24-90 f/3.5-4.5 with better optics.

I'd love a K-1 III with all the features of the K-1 II, but with more AF points that cover more of the frame (at least 45), a larger buffer, and slightly faster burst speed (7-8 fps in FF mode, 10 fps in crop mode) to better compete with the Canon 5D4, 6D2, and Nikon D850.

Somehow I managed to make it in, although I clicked send right at 11:00:00 UTC and ended up #34. I didn't make it last time (wasn't eligible anyway) despite doing the same thing so maybe it's a sign! :)

RICOH THETA Plug-in Store Goes Live

It would be awesome, though, if Ricoh uses what they learn from the Theta plug-in marketplace to help enhance their other non-Theta products, like the rumored GR III or future DSLRs. There's a lot of potential upside here for everybody.

"IGNITE"? Is Ricoh going to take a page out of the Samsung book and start building exploding cameras? Or maybe they'll start promoting Pentax lenses as a great way to start a fire if you get lost in the mountains while shooting nature photography? :)

At this point I wonder if they'll lower the K-1 II threshold again in August seeing as we're at July 27th and we're at a little over 38,500 posts. Wasn't the threshold 60,000 posts last month?

Popular Photography as a print magazine is dead. However, some of their writers have suddenly started publishing new articles on their website, and their newsletter became active again a few weeks ago, so I have a feeling it may actually be returning as an online-only publication.

Great results! Do you have any pictures of the "franken-adapter" and what the final result looks like mounted to the Q7? I might have to try something similar with my Q10...
