I got two. Okay, one had a problem with a dial and the seller took it back, but he sold it for ~850€. The one I actually use I grabbed off Ebay for ~950€ with 128GB SD card and a rather expensive Carry Speed shoulder strap that I should resell because my back hates it. Right under 2000 shots on it, too... a week after I somehow found the D FA 28-105 in "you-would-never-know-it's-used" condition for another 300€ sharp so I really, really cannot complain.

Hadn't the KP been at least 800€ in Germany (used) throughout the entire time I searched, I would have gone for it.

Hope springs eternal here as well: once I get rid of the PhD student salary limitations* the travel-light system is in my sights. If I can convince a certain someone (the cat) that the LTDs do not take up a lot of space... :D:p

That took a while lolol, although, to be honest, quite a few pros didn't adopt mirrorless in the first place :) I have used an evf and rather liked it so, at my standard, I can't see a negative to the mirrorless concept other than possible eye strain from the evf, but I have a KP which, with a limited on board, is probably smaller than mirrorless sytems anyway :)

10-18 mm on full frame is similar in angle of view of 6.5mm-12mm on apsc. Are you sure you need that wide?

I wouldn't base choices of camera based on future releases of lenses. Ricoh already have a hard time releasing a new flagship camera when the previous flagship model has already been discontinued for quite a long time. Since not everyone owning a camera body also purchase all models of lenses available, it is even harder to break even on lenses, explains why we haven't seen any new full frame lens since the D-FA*50 (shared with Tokina). In order to make a D-FA 70-200 f4 viable, Pentax would need to find another partner such as Tonkina so that to be able to break even on that new lens.

In addition to some of the uses already mentioned, I find Flickr useful for sharing family and friend event photos. I alert interested parties to the relevant albums and they're free to download or have prints made. It saves me time when dealing with requests like, "can I have a copy of the photo's you're taking?"

That's a good idea. I guess the logic of Pentax is to keep offering apsc as the lighter weight alternative to the K-1 system. The downside of Pentax apsc is with using the SDM lenses such as the DA 60-250 known for reliability issues. My position (if of any interest) with the new Pentax apsc flagship, would be to buy it for macro and willdlife with the D-FA 100 macro and D-FA 150-450, because I feel like the K1 and D-FA 28-105 is THE right kit for landscape, I stitch 3 vertical shots at 28mm when I need wider, that gives me about 20mm equ. FL. plus more pixels.

That, of course , is a bit of a dilemma whenever someone isn't a brand loyalist trying to make up a lens kit from old stuff. I use the D-FA* 70-200 f2.8 because I have it, it is optically great, but I'd rather prefer to trade it for a D-FA 70-200 f4 and a D-FA 85 1.4, none of those two Pentax lenses being available new at the moment.

Hmm smc Pentax-F 70-210 zoom is nice and compact, full frame , widely available second hand, cheap and excellent image quality for landscape. Just ignore the styling ;)

Hi Qwntm

Will the 60 - 250 with baffle removed work for you.?
70 - 200 are all older lenses
31 ltd in between your 20 and 43..?
Is the Tamron 70 - 200 2.8 light enough.?

regardless of what comes next

I'm done for quite awhile

I've started years ago with a basic *st DL, moved to a K 5 II in 2015, a K 3 in 2016, and replaced the K 5 II with a K 3 Il in November

I've replaced 90 % of my lenses as well

I'm done with changing camera bodies

All I'm saying is, no one was asking for Pixel Shift or Astrotracer; a select few if that...
There are plenty of people that need faster AF and higher ISO capabilities for their work; some have even jumped ship because of it.

If they are going to invest money and time into R&D, at least focus on something that makes sense - AF system and high ISO capabilties, perhaps?

I'm fine with features.
Just don't start icing the cake before it's finished cooking...

Another free software to view and edit PEF files is FastStone Image Viewer. It's an editor also. I've used it for years as have many others who now have Windows 10.
