Anyone have any experience with the new Pentax 18-270mm lens? I sold my 18-135 a few months ago to get a Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 but now I miss my zoom. Any suggestions.

Trying to decide on which one of these to get. I am going to get the Sigma 10-20mm also as I want something for landscapes but i can't decide on which one of these lens to get. I want a lens with a f2.8 that is sharp and be able to use as a walk around lens for most of my pictures. Going to Paris and Greece soon and want a nice everyday lens. But I also like taking pictures of food and would like a lens with good bokeh in the future for our baby. I may be asking a lot but I considered the Pentax 16-50mm f2.8 but I am kinda scared after most reviews. Not to mention with Sigma its a 10 year warranty vs Pentax 2 yr. Any suggestions would be great.

Sigma 10-20mm or 8-16mm?

Anyone have any info on these two lenses?. I can't seem to make up my mind. I have the Pentax 15mm Limited but kinda wanted something a bit wider. I know the 15mm is sharp but on a K5 ApS censor its still only about 23mm?. I see reviews saying the 8-16mm doesn't really give any fish eye effect and then I hear the older 10-20mm F4.5 is sharper than the 10-20mm F3.5. I am maiming going to use it for landscapes and maybe a few pictures of interior work when I sell my house or condo. I was thinking go also getting a Sigma 24-70mm f2.8. Any suggestions would be great as I am a amateur.

Anyone have any suggestions on which one is better?. Looking to sell my 18-135mm kit lens and get something better. Also should I sell my 15mm limited and put the money towards another lens like the 50-135mm f2.8.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was considering getting the Pentax 50-135mm or the Sigma 17-50 f2.8. I am also considering selling everything and moving towards the Olympus OMD M5 micro four thirds.

Sigma 10-20mm f4 vs f3.5?

Anyone have any recomendations on which one is better. I have seen a few posts regarding this yet the reviews seem to favour the older lens and a couple of hundred bucks cheaper. Plus the filters are cheaper and the polarizer for the older f4 lens.

What 3 Sigma lenses would you choose?

I think I will buy the sigma and if I like it better than I will keep it and sell the 15mm but if not I will just sell the sigma. But your correct about the enjoyment thing. But I appreciate the advice on the 17-50mm vs 24-70mm sigma.

Thanks for the advice I am seriously thinking on getting that lens and maybe a Sigma 10-20mm and a 17-50mm or a 24-70mm. I have a Pentax 18-135mm kit lens and a really nice 15mm limited. Everyone thinks I am crazy to get rid of the 15mm limited but I would like a little wider I think as I like landscape shots.

Dear JimDesu:

Would you prefer a 70-300mm F2.8 Sigma over the Pentax 50-135mmF2.8?. Yes I know the sigma is longer but is the quality better?. And is the Sigma Weather sealed?

Hi everyone I have posted a few threads here recently but just having a hard time trying to make a few decisions on a few lenses. Wide angle a must for landscape and something with a good f2.8 zoom lens. I have a Pentax 18-135 and a 15mm which I am trying to sell and considering a Pentax f2.8 16-50mm and a Pentax F2.8 50-135mm. But I am also considering getting 2-3 Sigma lenses. I want something for wide angle so maybe a 10-20mm and maybe a nice 50-200 or 70-200 f2.8 that I could get some nice blurred background with. As a amateur any advice helps.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I just figured by having two prime lenses 16-50 and 50-135 it would be sufficient. IS the 15mm that much better over the 16-50mm 2.8? Just 1 more mm less. I just figured I could sell the 15mm since its hardly used and put that money towards the other two lenses.

Thanks Adam I did review these before. I know the 15mm is a great lens but I can't afford to have all 3 so I figured I'd sell my 15mm limited and go with the 16-50 and 50-135 and at least the 16-50 is still a wide lens for landscape shots.

Anyone have any good things to say about these two lenses?. I am hoping to sell my kit lens 18-135mm and my limited 15mm and get these two lenses. From B&H photo it seems the reviews are pretty good but wondering if anyone on here had anything to say. I love my K5 but I was almost considering the possibility of going to canon to get their 24-70mm f2.8 and their 70-200 f2.8 which is apparently one of the best lenses out there. I know its much more expensive but is the quality as good?

Thankyou everyone so far. Of course more lenses is always good but I don't want more than 3. But I am leaning towards the 16-50mm. I kinda want to stick with Pentax as it just makes it easier to sell in the future.
