I've used cooking oil on plastics before, without any noticeable damage. However it can collect dust.

I've heard good things about Teflon lube, but never tried it on any plastics.

I'd suggest that you try anything similar on a old camera or even an old flash before you even consider using it on your present model.

Abandoned II

Shot on a Linhof 4x5.
With a Schneider 135mm lens.
Just a negative scanned by a friend on an unknown scanner.

The Politician

Shot on a Burke and James 5x7 with a Rodenstock 300mm lens.
The negative was Drum scanned by the same friend.

Not named

Calumet 4x5 monorail camera.
Schneider 135mm lens.
Flash Bulb
Kodak Portra 160 film.
Scanned by same friend on unknown scanner.

Rogers Pass, British Columbia

Fuji Velvia 50
Burke and James 5x7
Rodenstock 210mm lens.
Film was my first attempt at developing my own slide film.
The slide was photographed on a light table using my Sigma SD14
Seeing a 5x7 inch colour slide in person for the first time is amazing.

Although not shot on film this is my Burke and James in Rogers Pass right after the shot.

Shot with my Sigma SD14.

Oh, that's a Majestic Gear Tripod head under the camera.

I wouldn't mind seeing a scam sticky somewhere ;)
Of course I wouldn't post any on my web site, unless they can be proven due to liability issues. But that isn't usually too hard these days with internet search engines.

Why I'm shooting film, rather than digital these days.

Although I still like digital better for somethings I've hardly touched my Sigma SD14 since I bought my up my PZ-20.

Since I can achieve the same, and often better results with the Sigma it isn't the Image Quality that's converted me.

It's the time I get to spend taking photographs, and not siting in front of the computer processing the RAW files.

After a days shooting it would usually take me a couple of hours processing the photographs, or up to a week of computer work after an event.
This is of course time that I'll never get back, and has ruined a good relationship with one good woman for me.

Now instead I just buy a roll of film for $8.00 - $15.00 Canadian, load it up and choose my subjects wisely.
A 36 exposure roll usually lasts me 2 or 3 photo shoots, and would cost the average person $12.00 for same day service at the lab I work in. (my costs are less, however my work only gets developed when the other work is done for the day)

Then I get to sit back, and enjoy the other thing I love. Sharing my work with others.

I'm even seriously thinking of buying a couple of PZ-1P bodies, and only shooting film at events, knowing that my time is more valuable than the price of film and developing.

The one place I still prefer digital is while experimenting with a new technique, which I rarely do now. It's always nice being able to check your results out right after the shoot.

SMC Pentax-M f1.4 50mm loose front ring?

It's a comon problem, and a piece of cake.
That ring with all the numbers on threads on like a filter. To remove it you can often just use a eraser, or a bathroom plug to grip it, and unthread it.
I wouldn't recomend it, but I had a miserable one, on a lens given to me, so I notched it with a dremal, then used a screwdriver to remove it (that one was a real bugger of a lens)

once removed you'll see either 3 or 6 screws. Only 3 of them hold the ring on, and you'll see that they're loose.
just tighten them back up, and put the numbered ring back on. Your done :)

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her
husband stalking around with a fly swatter

'What are you doing?'
She asked.

'Hunting Flies'
He responded.

'Oh. ! Killing any?'
She asked.

'Yep, 3 males, 2 Females,' he replied.

Intrigued, she asked.
'How can you tell them apart?'

He responded,
'3 were on a beer can,
2 were on the phone.

For a very affordable prize I'd be willing to donate 1 or 2 of my best photo's (If other members are as well) to use in a poster, or something like that.
