Some of us never had much functionality, anyway. ;). That said, I would definitely miss what little I do have.

At my annual physical last year my doc asked if I had seen an eye doctor that year and I replied, "No, what's he gonna do? Tell me I'm still blind? I already know that." And she went on to say how it was important for many reasons including those that people have listed in this thread.

What's the highest rated lens you own according to PF?

My top rated lens is the FA* 85mm f/1.4 rated at 9.75. Right behind that I have the FA 77mm Ltd with it's 9.73 rating. I feel they live up to those ratings, too, they're just spectacular performers.

Rounding out my top 5 K-mount are the FA 31mm Ltd (9.51), the FA 43mm Ltd (9.47) and the FA* 24 (9.23).

My best 645 lens is the FA 120mm macro with a perfect 10, a score I agree with wholeheartedly. My FA 200mm sores a 9.86 and I also have the FA 75mm, FA 150mm, and FA 80-160mm which each score a 9.5. I am rather surprised the FA 35mm doesn't rate higher, it's one of my 3 must-haves for 645.

Harness, waist belt and accessories for Pentax 645Z

The holster is on your right hip and on your left hip is the harness release clip. You can probably fit another holster to the left of the release clip but that puts it more under your arm than in front. Depending on how you hold your arms that could be convenient or it could be uncomfortable.

I have an earlier version than is currently for sale and so it could be a little different so I would check with a sales rep to make sure. Before I purchased mine I called to be sure I could two fit 645NIIs on it comfortably and the sales person was very helpful.

I have the Cotton Carrier chest and waist combo and put the 645z on my chest and the K-1 on my hip. It is effective at redistributing the weight, particularly the chest slot, but pulling a camera out for a shot quickly does require some practice. A camera switch, i.e. put one on the harness and pull the other off--is even harder so if speed is paramount I would guess there are probably better systems.

I should also note that I am not particularly busty but having boobs is a mild impediment for the chest harness. Men might have it easier.

Well, I had only a fixed-focus camera back then. I'm nearly blind and can't focus my own eyeballs much less a camera so without autofocus I would probably have a different avocation.

Favoured Portrait Lens ?

Although it's long, the FA 150mm f/2.8 is the best I can do, I like it better than the 75mm and though I love the 120mm Macro it is just too sharp (!) for most portraits. The 135mm leaf shutter is manual focus and thus outside my expertise and I don't know if it even works on digital bodies but it's the closest focal length, at least to my knowledge.

I now have the 150-500 also which, although still slow, I find to be sharper. For the money, certainly, it's a good value.

Some years ago I broke down and bought a Sigma 300mm f/2.8 which is a bit heavy but still hand-holdable and it works well with 1.4x and 2x TCs. Last year I acquired the FA* 600mm f/4 which is so absurdly heavy for me I am not sure I am going to keep it.

It has been said that you can describe lenses with three words--long, sharp, inexpensive--but you can only pick two of the three at a time.

Over time I have had both versions of the Sigma 170-500 and found both a bit soft at the long end and, being slow, autofocus was difficult in anything less than afternoon sun. Lens creep was also a nuisance with both.

Is that a 6x9? I would love one of those!

A local camera retailer went out of business a few years ago and put their inventory up for auction. It had a 6x12 that had been in their rental department that I would have liked but the final price was just too rich for me.
