DA* 50-135 f2.8 repair

I have a DA* 50-135 that stopped focusing about six months after the warranty ran out. I received a quote from precision camera for $350.00 to fix the lens. Needless to say that seemed a bit high for replacing the focus motor, so I thought I would try KEH repair. They quoted me $195.00 plus shipping -($207.50) total. I sent it in and received the lens back in two weeks including ground shipping round trip from the west coast. works perfectly and ca
me with a six month warranty. Very pleased with their service. I also use them as a source for lenses and they have a great return policy.

I think you will like it. Autofocus and metering are significantly better than Pentax. I still use my k5 and k3 some but the Nikon has mostly taken over. This is an image I took with the 24-85 kit lens this weekend. Some of the pro lenses like the 70-200 f2.8 and the 300 f4 are exceptional. The low light ability is also very good

Great series. I am from Seattle and Rowena Crest is something I have missed in Oregon. Beautiful shot and looks like a great drive. Thanks for sharing.

I am thinking about having my DA 50-135 focus motor repaired, and since I haven't dealt with repairs since Ricoh has done their thing, I need to know the correct repair shop to deal with.
Thank you in advance for any pointers.

I am ordering today. This will be great with my Tamron 150-600 which did not come in Pentax mount. I seems that Ricoh has no desire to go Fx, at this time and with Tamron and Sigma not supporting the Pentax mount on their higher spec lenses I've got to go and this camera ticks most of my boxes. I will be selling off part of my Pentax Kit in the near future.Joe

I have the 3 FA ltd's, F28mm f2.8. FA 50mm F1.7,Sigma 24mm f1.8, Sigma 100-300mm f4 w/1.4&2x tc's. But they better hurry, since I also have a Nikon d300. and the Tamron 150-600 and am really tempted to go for a used d800 because of the better auto focus. It's a little quiet out there in rumor land these days and i don't have a lot of time to wait.

I could never afford any long primes and Tamron,in its infinite wisdom decided not to make a Pentax mount for the 150-600 mm zoom. So I picked up a slightly used Nikon D 300 and a Tamron 150-600 mm for a reasonable price for wildlife and birds to go along with my K3 and Ltd's for landscapes. Just picked up the lens so will be testing it this weekend.

I carry my K-3 with a Sigma 100-300 f4 with the Op Tech sling adapter with no problems. I have a black rapid where the tripod mount came loose less than a half hr after tightening which caused me to spend $250.00 to repair my camera. I prefer the strap mount of the Op-Tech as the nylon will show wear before failure.

I have searched the interweb for a lens profile for the 20-40mm without luck. Either I haven't put in the proper criteria or there aren't any available. By the way I have LR5. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Jor

We had one of those in Seattle about two years ago, also a Z Band Radar on a Russian built platform. The coast Guard had a thousand yard exclusion zone around the rig.
Nice image.

My first outing with the K-5 and Sigma 100-300 F4/w 1.4 TC.These are Dusky Canadian Geese. There may have been as many as 2-3000 birds at the site.
I will need a lot of practice to attain what many of you on this forum have accomplished.
Thanks for the inspiration.
