Still Life My First Attempt With Still Life.

Tonytee, I see you move toward serious challenge. Still life is absolutely amazing way to study light and composition, you will not regret that. Forget about build in flash. If you have the natural light source, play with that and reflectors. If not- continuous light source is good. You can add flash lights, but continuous light will help to visualize shadows, and it helps to study, but really there is no limit to experiment and practice. It took me about a month before I took control over still life basics. And it's fun, enjoy!

Check of the famous still life photographers. There is only one video in Italian, but you can take a look at his set up

I agree! I got so tired of big city after a couple of days. However that's the best place to shoot streets. :)

Thanks! The images were taken different days, sometimes it was one camera all day, sometimes 2. It's better than gym. :)

I don't understand what is the street photography exactly, I just love to steal the moments of someone's lives.

I've been dreaming about shooting the sunrise from Brooklyn Bridge, and finally I did that last week. It was quite a walk, and it was windy and cold, but absolutely beautiful!

I took two cameras with me, K-1 with 15mm and 77mm, and Canon with 10-18mm. I can tell now, that 10mm or 12-15 on FF must have for the subjects like that one. I mostly used Canon because of the lens although I can't stand that camera any more.

I finally decided to sell all Canon gear, and buy either DFA 15-30mm, or Sigma 12-24mm, and maybe Pentax KP for travel.

And yes, that's the case when we can take good pictures with ANY average DSLR and any ultra wide lens. :)

Exactly. There are plenty of selfie addicted mature and old adults on social sites. I actually believe that selfie editing causes less damage than cruelly detailed modern cameras and modern glass as is. It's not like in film era, digital resolution makes imperfections which are not that visible to the naked eye, big and even scary.

She invited herself to my kitchen when I left the door open for a minute. I chased her out with the peanut, but decided to stage the visit again :), kept the door open waiting with the camera. And here she goes. I did not worry about her lost in the house because she will follow me everywhere as a peanut source. I'm not going to do that again, she is too spoiled already.

I'm so sorry for your terrible loss.

Time does not heal, but one day you will discover that you can breath again, and it will be another day when you will feel you can live again. Keep shooting. Anything. Photography helped me to survive when I lost my husband. My cameras were my only friends around for a while who did not leave me. I hope it will help you too.

That dreamy background, and the foreground add a lot into mood of the whole image. Well done!

Thank you guys. I wanted to go back there this week, but then realize it will be such a holidays nightmare. I will go back the next year. Hopefully when it will be cold to shoot the gators out of water. Close to my car :)

I have so many pictures from the wetlands I fell in love with. Here is the bunch of recently edited. All anhingas are not the same, they are from different spots of that lake. That place is birder's dream.

I found the closer shot yesterday while re-doing my new LR catalog. I definitely will work again on her portraits. Hopefully I meet her again next year, it will be soon, either February, or March.
