If you mean D FA 645, nothing in principle.

Interesting that they didn't just dress up the "classic" 25/2 ZE/ZF2 Distagon.

Metabones 0.5x Speed Booster for Pentax Q cameras

Metabones post MTF curves for their adapter.
With some fancy math, you could combine that with the MTF for your lens,
to get the overall MTF for the lens + adapter system.

Where's Falk Lumo when we need him? :)

BTW, no sign of the Devil's Speed Booster with a K-mount yet.

That's the DA 20-40 Ltd.

Does OK on the "K1 lab" down to 24mm:

. . . and might do better re-baffled for FF, like folks have been doing with the DA* 60-250.

Don't forget that the FA 20-35 MTF curves went south fast towards the edge of the FF frame.

Just go with the DA 35 Ltd, don't bother with the rest of your stuff.

I've done this kind of work hand-held,
being in places where tripods are not allowed.

You may need to do some PP afterwards,
typically levels adjustments to make everything black or white,
especially if the paper is yellowed and the writing/print is faded.

You clearly fail to understand the Q concept.

"Couldn't have" is obviously hypothetical, but think about the investment needed to do what Fuji is doing with MILCs.
As we're finding out, Ricoh is not ready to risk that much money in an uncertain market.

It will take us away from the "truth" that's at the heart of traditional photography,
and into a world of fake images.

Personally, I don't want some Google algorithm to dictate what my photographs show.

That's also the space in which the Q system lives, although it's generally cheaper and more versatile.

In the cell phone's sweet spot, for small on-screen photos, if you don't want to take more than what your limited battery life will power, or what you're able to upload off the limited memory, maybe!

Also, try gently bending the contacts in the battery compartment,
to help them make tighter contact with the batteries.

Both compartment and battery contacts should be clean,
to get the most voltage out of the batteries.

The K-x is still a great little camera,
but power supply was always its Achilles heel.

This has become a major issue.

My solution is a DA 20-40 on a little K-S2 for the mid range,
then two Q7's, one with the wide zoom and one with the telephoto zoom.

Sorry to hear about your DA 20 - 40, and that Square Trade couldn't get it back working for you.

The FA 20 - 35 was the predecessor lens to the DA 20 - 40, and is an FF lens with an aperture ring.
You may find one at the upper end of your price range.

As a regular user of the Q system,
my beef with Pentax right now is that they haven't stuck to their guns,
but appear to have backed off on their promises for the system,
the Telephoto Macro for example.

So in this case, expecting the company to change direction
(by abandoning the system) has been the prudent course of action.

They may make some money selling the paper.

And, intriguingly, "The KODAK PRINTOMATIC Camera is the first of the full product lineup to be launched in 2017 and continue into 2018."

IIRC, the cemented join in the M 50/1.4 is a little flatter than on the K or A versions,
which supposedly makes the performance slightly better at infinity, and worse closer in.

Don't worry about it.

People like to diss the Q system, just to show how discerning they are about image quality.
Sixty years ago, they would have been using Speed Graphics, because the Leica wasn't good enough.

I gave up on the bundled Silkypix when it wouldn't open files from other Pentax models, just the one it came with.

Since I use several different Pentax models at any given time, this was a real turnoff.

The 15/2.8 and new 18/2.8 are currently available as "Interlock" industrial-style lenses:

ZEISS Interlock Lenses | Automated Imaging

---------- Post added 09-04-17 at 08:16 AM ----------

The classic 18/3.5.

My only frustration with that lens is the rather long MFD (30cm),
but that's after being spoiled by the 25/2.8.

Can you do a custom correction of the geometric distortion instead?

I've had problems with the automatic vignetting correction of my DA 20-40 at the long end,
and have found that I can do better manually with the custom correction (in Photoshop).

As it happens, I was just watching Nolan's "Interstellar",
and I couldn't help noticing the geometric distortion
on the wide-angle shots of the interior of the farmhouse.
So if you can't get the corrections done,
just pretend that it's for artistic effect!
