Thanks for your effort mate, it's now working on v1.17.1!

One small annoyance, on android 8 or 9 while the images are downloading there is a constant notification update that triggers a constant vibration of the devices.

Thanks again

Sorry, no time or knowledge for that. But would give a try on adding some thing basic like a delete option to the wireless api web services (with and option for raw+jpg deletion)

Best,

---------- Post added 15-03-19 at 18:26 ----------

Or an option to rate pictures in camera or/and via wireless api.

The nearest experience I have with embedded linux was recompiling a custom openwrt, not very useful, maybe a change to the milbeaut architecture.

Code:

dfb@blues2:~/Tmp/GRIII_100/linux-kernel-v1.0.0-69a9f475fbf10c79f56600a9d1dafa8178db385d$ grep -rH GRIII *

No luck with 9 either and a KP, Android 8 is working a bit slower that I remember (it was faster then the original pentax app) but working fine.

No, it will log your track to a gpx file and you have to sync it with some software to write the gps coordinates the the jpg/dng exif records.
I start every log with a photo of my phone clock (with seconds) to be able to easily sync it with the camera clock.
By "some software" I mean darktable, digikam or exiftool on linux. Hope some one will chip in if lightroom does the same.

Why no K-3 II firmware updates?
Posted By danielblues

I don't have access to pentax intel, from what I have read the accelerator unit added to K-1II freed up resources on the main processor. This allowed for more complex and efficient focus algorithms with the old cpu.

The KP already has the accelerator unit, does it have spare cpu cycles for a better focus? I don't know, but it would be a better design if it did, Pentax took advantage of that and pass it to the client on and newly advertised KP premium line that they continue to sell. Why not make it better over time? You can design for that.
I think it makes good marketing for a company with Pentax release cycles than for example Sony's RX100 line.

The mentioned GT40 amp, is a simple 199€ living room guitar amp. It does firmware updates over wifi. It simply has a backup firmware in case it fails. It's not expect as much for a 1300€ premium camera?

So I will debate that, k-3 and k-1 had new features added why not backport some of K-1II autofocus improvements to KP? In my opinion it would it looked good on a press release of a 2017 camera, a big update in 2017 another in 2018, then a new camera.

My best and only good firmware related purchase was the Fender GT40 guitar amp, for over a year they solved issues and added useful features and better sounds, the "The worst camera-gear purchase" firmware wise was the Pentax KP, it was sold as a "premium", but got zero new features.

The firmware it self is rock solid, and love the camera, but for me firmware updates are excellent markting.

I have the xproP, tt600 and tt350p, and they don't failed with the KP or K-30.
I've tried several combinations with different masters and slaves, they are rock solid,so I don't have many ideas to help you.

Are you using TTL with the tt600? It doesn't work. Works fine with the 350.

From what I've read that's true, but you lose allot from 18 to 28, much more them from 135 to 105.

Best,

---------- Post added 08-01-19 at 10:04 ----------

So I would only go 28-105 if you plan to add a wider lens and commit to a full frame future.
