I loved seeing everyone's interpretation of the theme, i hope it wasn't too challenging!
I had a few favorites, but Bart's entry met the criteria the best :) In my opinion Abstract is a broad theme, and is also a matter of taste... this photo gave me that nice warm feeling that goes with the christmas celebrations :)
So, congratulations Bart, I am looking forward to the next challenge!!

Coming up with a new theme was harder than I thought!
But after some consideration I decided it had to be 'Abstract', since I absolutely love abstract photography.
Abstract might be hard to define so I am looking forward to seeing your interpretations of it. Also, I am aware that this theme has been used before for this competition, so bonus points for those who manage to combine 'Christmas' and 'Abstract' in one photo since it is the holiday season! Happy Holidays!
Good luck, and have fun :)
Cheers,
Regine

First photo was taken with a HTC sensation smartphone, through the windows of a moving train, during sunset.
Second was a golden sunset at a really beautiful forrest with lots of small lakes close to where I live (photo taken with Canon IXUS 115)
Third photo was at a bigger lake about 10 kilometer from my place, I got up at 4am to cycle to the lake and capture the sunrise, only to get lost and miss the sunrise completely. This tranquil image helped me nurse my bruised ego for getting lost :) (photo taken with Canon IXUS 115)

Autumn 2013
i borrowed my friend's Sigma DP2m, and the amount of detail in the photos the camera makes is just crazy. As discussed above, not sure it matches the criteria of this competition :) i think it is a wonderful camera, just a little bit misunderstood sometimes i think ;)

Hi all,
I am looking for a place in netherlands where i can get my K-5 cleaned. there is dirt on my lenses and some spots on the mirror, and i have no idea how to clean it myself. Does anyone know a good place, preferably in the east/south of netherlands?
Thanks in advance!
cheers,
Regine

I have been a member for a while now, but never properly introduced myself! My name is Regine, i live in nijmegen in netherlands and i have been the proud owner of a K5 for over 2 years now. I got addicted to photography using my sisters camera (canon), but I am glad i switched to pentax. The k5 is a heavy monster but i couldn't imagine taking photos with a different camera.
I bought an old 50mm lens (ricoh rikenon f/1.7) and got addicted to it. Pretty much never use a different lens. I have developed quite a distinctive style with it i think..
hope you will enjoy :)

i agree with all written above. I have tried this kind of photography, and i had to admit it is very difficult. Maybe a different (low?) point of view will add something? it was already said, but the photo lacks a certain point of interest, indeed. still, it is a nice place you have found :)

i'm sorry i can be pedantic about cropping, and i concur that with street photography you cannot always chose you background. here is my attempt at street photography, i would love to hear your comments!

i hope you don't mind unsolicited advice, but to me the car in the background is distracting, as is the fact that part of the bench is missing... have you tried this in black and white?
