The Shard is the only 'official' name. The walkie-talkie has an optical interest. The first summer after it opened, some cars parked in the vicinity had their paint bubbled by heat because the building was acting as a parabolic mirror and focusing sunlight.

The curved building in the distance is known as the 'walkie-talkie' because of its appearance. The smaller green coloured block on right is where I work, or I did pre-covid. I work from home now.

Sounds like you've got a nice guitar. It's good to find one that's really pleasing. I've got a 1962 Strat I bought for a normal price back in 1975/6. I couldn't afford that year now! For a long time I've been thinking I should get the K10 and take some 'arty' pics. It's black so I think I'd go for mono.

He looks a bit like Manolito from the High Chaperal. Or maybe the other way round!

Thank you Ray, here are some more. I hope you like them. Maybe one day we can all get back to normal and travel again.

The red letter box is there because it's the only one I've ever seen with Queen Victoria's initials. All post boxes here bear the monarchs initials, usually ER, an occasional GR but never VR.

Sadly these phone boxes have been disappearing for a long time now, either completely or replaced by a modern characterless contraption!

Unable to travel outside the UK this summer we chose to stay in the Cotswolds. UK members can probably stop reading now, but for others, the Cotswolds is an area in south central and south west England offically classified an 'Area of outstanding natural beauty'. It's green hills mostly are farmland but dotted around this landscape are lots of small villages. The high streets are often the most interesting and lined with buildings made from the local yellow stone. These usually date from the 16th to late 19th centuries and even older occasionally. I used my standard zoom and because of good weather was able keep the aperture around F8. I'm always pleasantly surprised how well this humble lens resolves detail and this time was no different. These didn't require much in the way of pp apart from resizing to make uploading easier.

There are a fair number of buildings like that dotted across England in the more ancient towns such as York. Maybe not that dramatic looking but all now carefully preserved. In previous centuries the internal floors have probably been levelled but the exterior retained as is.

Its probably still there in the same condition and listed, which means it has to be preserved, as is, by law. It probably dates from at least the 16th century. I have to admit it does look a bit rickety!

Looking elsewhere on the net, some suggest there might be a capacitor instead. Which still doesn't answer your question, either way it may not be fixable.

+1 for Dxo Photolab Elite.
The license allows for installs to 3 computers, might be useful to some. It also integrates nicely with the free Google Nik version.

Lovely colour and captured so well. Fender sprayed their electric guitars with automobile paint in the 50's and early 60's. I think that would have been called Laurel Green at the time. The original guitars tend to fade\change colour over the years. Now it's mostly polyester.

That's a great shame. All internet forums can become difficult at times. The thing is not to take them too seriously.

Interesting that the X90 had 12.1Mp and top ISO of 6400. Pentax could have had another CCD DSLR with better specs but I guess everything became weighted towards CMOS.

Some shots from Keukenhof Tulip Festival in 2018.

The first has no pp. K10d likes red! The 18-55mm used for all.

I think it would be nice to keep it to Pentax and the Samsung versions but I'm flexible.
