Sold for $340. I am unfortunately no longer a Pentaxian. Thank you and I hope to be back some day.

Looks like about $20 for standard ground which is similar to US shipping rates. However I'm not sure about potential customs hassles. Also, I'd rather sell it as a kit since the lens isn't worth much by itself and I have no need for it if I don't have the body.
Thoughts?

Still available. I may list it on Craigslist this week to see if I can generate any local action. Otherwise, it's going on eBay by the weekend.
1st generation 18-55mm kit lens. See the link to the pictures in the original listing above.

Yes, and I realize I'm probably trying to sell to the wrong crowd. Most folks here already have a Pentax camera :-)

Yes, a polarizer helps with the flare but the images from a non-SMC lens do not have the same "pop" on a DSLR as the SMC coated lenses. They are very sharp, though- espically when stopped down to f/4 or f/5.6. I think it's a 55mm filter thread. The lens is at my office so I will have to verify Monday.

David-
I see no reason why it wouldn't work on a 5D with a K-mount adapter.
Filters work fine. I have used it with a circular polarizer quite a bit. If you notice in my photos you will see that there are internal threads on the lens and external threads on the built-in lens hood. Depending on the filter used you may not be able to extend the lens hood, though.
Keep in mind that my posted photos on flickr have required a fair amount of post processing to get the look you see. I shoot in RAW and PP in Lightroom. I have found the Direct Positive Preset is a good starting point for getting images from the Tak to have the same kind of pop I get from modern glass. Many times that's all I have to do. Straight out of the camera the images tend to look a little low contrast for my taste. But, I have never had any problem dialing them in in PP to get what I wanted. You just can't shoot into the sun or the flare will wash out most of the image.

Thanks guys! Somebody make me an offer. I'd much prefer to sell this to a true Pentaxian here than have to put it on eBay.
BTW, this would make an awesome starter kit for a budding junior photographer. I'm still a couple of years away from my eldest being ready or else I'd be handing it down to her.

Sold the A-50 and FA35. This is a great little lens for the $$. Awesome for street photography as you can get in tight to your subject without looking like you're pointing a big lens at them: |

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Takumar 135mm f/2.5 (PK mount, non-SMC) Asking Price
$60.00 Item Location
South Carolina Item Description
I bought this lens to play around with. I haven't used it that much simply because I don't do much telephoto shooting. It works quite well wide open in aperture priority mode on my K10D, rendering good detail and great bokeh. When switched over to Manual mode and stop-down metered with the green button as described here, it is one of the sharpest telephoto lenses I have ever seen.
This lens is not SMC coated so you don't want to shoot directly into a light source. Fortunately the lens includes a built-in retractable lens hood. I find the images are a little flat right out of the camera but I can really make them pop with a little post processing in Lightroom. Here are some sample photos taken with my K10D (which I am also selling).
See a gallery of photos and additional lens details here.
This is a relatively small lens that has found a good home in my camera bag. For only $60 you can't really go wrong!

Pentax SMC-A 50mm f/1.7 lens Asking Price
$70.00 Item Location
South Carolina Item Description
This is the A-series 50mm manual focus lens to have. It is cheaper and sharper wide open than the f/1.4 version and faster and better made than the f/2 versions. Being an A-series lens it allows modern Pentax DSLRs to control the aperture. No stop-down metering required! This lens renders the most incredible color, detail and bokeh of any lens I have used and it's only $70!
See a gallery of photos and additional details here.
Some sample photos taken with this lens and my K10D (which I am also selling).

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Pentax FA35mm f/2.0 AL lens Asking Price
$400.00 Item Location
South Carolina Item Description
As a part of liquidating my Pentax kit I must very reluctantly let my beloved FA35 go. This lens has been discontinued by Pentax and is becoming very hard to find. I bought mine directly from Pentax about a year ago when I learned they were being discontinued. It functions as a 52.5mm equiv lens on a Pentax DSLR and works as a full frame 35mm lens on Pentax 35mm bodies (unlike the DA35mm Macro lens).
See photos and other details here.
If you have a Pentax DSLR you need this lens. These days I use it for 90% of my shots.

$100.00 Item Location
South Carolina Item Description
Since I am selling my K10D I am also letting my D-BG2 battery grip go. This is (IMO) hands down the best accessory for your K10/20D you can buy. It has been used daily for the last 18 months and works flawlessly.
