Sorry but did you guys actually read the document? It says:
So from what I gather, basically, everything remains the same.
Besides, would they get 2 new cameras out this month under a name they plan to phase out the next?

I think for a start, you would be better off with a Pentax-M 50/1.7 like Steve suggested first (it's so cheap and easily resellable too) and see if you like the field of view and rendrering, or if you need something else.
IMHO, the second lens to get would be a wide angle. Which one ? That is up to you. 35's are plentiful and cheap, 28's almost as cheap (is you're OK with 2.8 of course), while 24's are harder to come by at reasonable prices. All are good lenses !
Have fun !

Do you have a real need to get all lenses at once?
If not, a more sensible and cost-effective option would be to start with just the 18-135 (seems to be great) and then decide later whether or not to buy other lenses, should you find you often need more reach or more width or more speed or more... 135mm on APS-C (to me) is already quite a long lens.
Have fun and enjoy your purchase!

Funny that no reference is made to the previous Pentax awarded the Red Dot -- the controversial K-01, last year, if I'm not mistaken?

I love this game. Here's my suggestion:
everyday walk-around FA31
portrait FA77 or DA*50-135
travel Voigtlander 20/3.5, FA31 or FA43 and DA*50-135
family gathering FA*24 and A50 or Voigtlander 58/1.4
night/poor weather FA31 and DA*50-135
indoor/outdoor concert DA*50-135
street and cityscape/architecture Voigtlander 20/3.5 and FA43
Basically, yes, you have too many lenses. Then again, who doesn't? ;)
Have fun!

No, the MX is awesome (I'm still wondering if I like it better than the LX) but it's real old school, only M mode. Completely manual and mechanical (can run without batteries too!)
ME Super is very a good compromise allowing for Av and keeping the smaller size and all metal construction. For a bigger body and similar vintage experience (with Av) you might also consider the K2, but it's far less common. Then there are the "newer" bodies, A3, Super Program etc. Check out the camera database here!
And have fun!

Hi Exroadie,
I'm surprised you're having a hard time, this is a pretty common lens here in France.
I have one M 35mm 2.8 that I will let go as soon as I receive my 31 Limited, early January. It has a small default in the filter thread, making it difficult (but not impossible) to screw a 49mm filter in place. I think 70 EUR + shipping would be quite reasonable but I'm open to discussion. PM me if you might be interested.

AFAIK yes, but the sensor is the same in these cameras, that explains the very similar IQ.

I sometimes see them going for under EUR 200 here in France, I assumed that would translate to (roughly) USD 250. The key is to be patient... Good luck!

Welcome to the forums!
Personally I would advise to get the cheaper K-30 body and the 31mm Ltd rather than the other way: bodies are updated regularly but fine glass will last for decades.
The only reson I would think otherwise is if you are already experienced and looking for something in particular in the K-5II.
There are other possibilities of course regarding lenses (the DA 35 Ltd Macro is highly regarde and the DA 35 2.4 is very cheap) and bodies (how about a regular K-5? if you can still find one it's almost as cheap as a K-30 and offers specs very close to the K-5II).
Good luck,
Victor

Are you looking for a zoom ?
If you're ready to consider buying used, you may be able to find a Tamron 17-50mm 1:2.8 around $200-250. This would really be a step up from the 3 lenses you mention. Otherwise, there's the Pentax DA 16-45mm 1:4 that can also be found (used) around $150-200.
The Pentax is honorable without anything brilliant about it, the Sigma 18-50 is probably a bit better but not by much, the Sigma 18-125 will be useful thanks to its range but is not a fast or high-quality lens.
If you are using a "WR" DSLR, the only WR lens in your price range (that I know of) is the Pentax 18-55mm.

That's right, I am now officially looking for the one lens to rule them all. Aren't we all.
I know it's a long shot, and you haven't even read my requirements yet:  my max budget is 750 EUR net from me, including shipping, taxes etc. For this reason, European seller is preferred (otherwise, +20% import tax).
 I would prefer a black, made in Japan one (to match my 77, but not an absolute requirement).
:o I need an optically mint sample (of course).
 I value the original caps and leather pouch!.
On the other hand, considering that money is the limiting factor here :( I will not be too picky. So feel free to PM me with any offer and I'll keep an open mind to answer. Cosmetic issues are OK (within reason ;)).
Thanks for looking!

Hi SigB, welcome to the forums.
Usually for macro, people prefer longer focal length -- around 100mm. I like 50mm, used to have the 35mm Limited but sold it...
Anyway I wouldn't buy both 35mms. If you get the Limited you don't really need the 1/2 extra stop at the exact same focal length. It might be more logical (but more expensive) to go with both the Limited and the Sigma 30.
Also bear in mind that 30-35mm is not really wide on digital. Sure it's wider than the 50, but if you really want wide you need to go below 24mm.
Have fun,
Victor

Hi Planewood1 and welcome,
If I were in your position I would keep:
1) to shoot in bad weather, 2) and 3) classic manual focus lenses, perfect for learning to use your camera, and 4) when you need reach, this zoom is pretty highly rated and small/light.
And I would get rid of
1) and 2) overlap in focal length your kit zoom. You might however:
- swap 3) for the Pentax FA 100-300 if you prefer manual focus and don't mind the extra weight.
- swap 4) for the other 50mm lens, they should yield very comparable results.
Most importantly: have fun trying all of them first! :)

Unfortunately for you, you're already DOOMED.
You can't just buy "one" Limited. I know because I thought I could, some time ago. But then if you open that door... You might as well just go directly for the DA 21/40/70 trio. Take as much time as you need to buy each one of them (maybe used) but don't try to "save money" by buying cheaper alternatives, it won't last. Soon you'll "have to get" the Limiteds. So, the only way to not spend more than necessary is to not get anything else.
Sorry man, I wish I had better news for you.:(

Did you consider the DA 35 2.4 and 50 1.8 ? Those appear to be "value for money" AF primes !
Something like Sigma 24 / DA 35 / DA 50 would be a sweet, light, high quality and reasonably cheap setup.
As you state, to my knowledge nothing is really cheap past 50mm when it comes to AF primes. Maybe a Tamron 90 macro?
Have fun deciding,
Victor
