Why? Find a Canon FD lens with the ED mark.
In the past only Nikon used the ED mark.
In the 300/4 perhaps the glass is low dispersion and not extra low dispersion?

Wrong, in the 300 M* description you can read "low dispersion optical glass". In this catalog they have added informations in the name of some lenses, example "floating" or "ED".

Did you already mention that the next APS-C will be called K-3 Mark III?
And that will support:- ISO1600000
- 4K in 24/30/60p (I don't know if only in Interval Movie mode...)
- 1/25000 electronic shutter time
- Exposure compensation to +8 / -8
- Focus modes from GR III like SNAP and INFINITY
- DOF bracketing
- Highlight emphasis metering mode
- 2 cards slots

Think that the OVF of the K-1 is way inferior to that of the ... MX, that is inferior to that of the LX. To improve the focal point rendition it would be enough a better OVF also without "hybrid" technology.

IMHO an APS-C with a "like FF" viewfinder and a complete range of high performance dedicated lenses is a very good move.
About the articulated screen... maybe no maybe yes...
