I will continue to renew my Pro subscription. The majority of my paid work (license and print sales) have come from being found on Flickr.
that is well worth the $49

Appoggiatura, did you tell us what your metering mode is set to? If you are set to spot meter and the centers of those flowers are very dark, that would explain the overexposure. Also several other possibilities including mechanical. Good luck.

Milky way

do you have astrotracer?

if not, another way to go here is to shoot several identical shots then align them and use a median blend technique to remove the noise. It works well but requires much more hands on that a single shot.

It may help to use a longer focal length and vertical framing which will increase the illumination from the stars and make the milky way generally larger in the frame

Richard, thx for asking. I'll wait a few months before i post a review, but so far so good!
It is a beast of a lens and requires a bit more planning and technique than using the DFA150-450 on my K3II, but I have done a few pixel peeping comparisons and find the A* to be a fine option for long tele work on 645. The images look wonderful as long as the light is sufficient. I've also shot some long exposure with it and have modified my technique a bit with good results.
more to come.

Lincoln Speedway

I doubt Abe Lincoln ever pondered the future rush of horseless carriages into the nation's capital, but if so, he may have imagined it somewhat like this. Cars speed across the Arlington Memorial Bridge past the Lincoln Memorial by night.

Single frame, single exposure. 35mm at 18sec, f/14, ISO100

Two tripods are really clunky, especially when tracking the moon, but I am getting good results dropping a carbon monopod from the camera body. It need only make light contact with the ground to stop most of the small amplitude vibration and yields very acceptable results vs. the single tripod.

I pretty much just shoot on Saturday mornings, so I only bring a camera for that intended purpose. I'm not one for spontaneous, "look at that alien spacecraft" or "hey, it's Bigfoot!"-type shots.

Thanks! Those look VERY capable, but not very portable for my needs. I'm afraid to guess how much they cost.

thanks, for FF equivalent, it's less if you use a .79 crop factor. But, I am happy with the quality of the Pentax 645 1.4X TC here.
