Finally went all out and used 2 k1's on a wedding, 3 lenses, 24-70 (used the most) 70-200 and the 15-30. Was a little apprehensive, didnt need to be, Had the Most keepers ever. Used the Metz 64 speedlight system ant the Priolite Ultra 500s' Had practiced enough and taken enough landscapes and people shots to "feel" out the focuse timing. Images were sharp even in low light, of course the speedlites and strobes helped a lot here.

Super, I specially love the castle type ones. I have dust spots too, not too many, but was very surprised they were there because I didnt change the lens too much in the field and darn thing is suppose to be Proofed. Ah, I need to be more careful. I think some got in when I was changeing the filter on the 25mm. I got rid of that in favor of the 28-45. WOW, its huge. Great photography, thanks for sharing

Here is a recent image I took while at a park bench using HSS with th Pentax 540 on camera. It was a cloudy day, some rain, so shutter speed was not too high. 1/800 of a second, F/2.8.. The 645Z is limited to1/ 4000 it seems.

Im also in Love with the 645Z, still the only gripe I have is the flash/strobe shutter speed limitation, even my canon can go to 200. The 55mm has proven to be a winner, I used it for the majority of the images I took of a couple the other day. I hardly ever used my "Nifty 50" Canon lense. Go figure. Im not too keen on the 45-85mm yet. Although Ive seen some great images here with it, Maybe better for long landscape. Not giving up yet. Great photos, thanks for sharing

Update: Used the 45-85 on a photoshoot in a Studio setting finally, Used mostly on a Tripod, the Images were tack sharp. So for sure keeping this Lens. Wish It had SR, Image Stabilization though. Also used the 90mm, 55mm, the 150mm and the 25mm. All worked fantastically.

Susanb,,,The HighSpeed Sync is a function of the speedlight, With Canon, you have a choice, you can set the Speedlight HSS from the camera menu OR directly on the speedlight. With the Pentax you can Only set it in the Speedlight itself. And its super easy with the AF540 I have.

I take most of my landscape images on a tripod, Portraits mostly handheld. One reason Im hoping for more Image stabilized lenses. Unless of course its too dark and have to drag the shutter way down.

SusanB, there was a very small amount of CA in the original Raw file. Seems it got worse in the editing phase, Im re-editing the image. I need to slow down and not edit after midnight I guess. But your right, it shouldnt be there at all.

Keeping the ISO low is something I simply like to do, I understand that at times an image is actually better with a higher ISO, but I have such a hard time bring it up. With this camera, Im not so much afraid anymore, but still, the Image I am posting is with an ISO of 100, at f/8 and a shutter speed of 1/10, and oh yes, I used a tripod, Took awhile to get all the sand off. 1/10 actually seemed fast, and the hula dancer was great whenever I said,,,,,"Hold that". I cropped the photo for her as well, of just the Head and shoulders, its amazing how much 51.4 MP on a Medium Format can retain. So far.... loving this camera. Sunset in Waikiki.

Another image taken at the Valley of the Temples in Oahu, Hawaii. High ISO check in Aper. Priority. at F/18.... Now mind you, Not only do I shoot in RAW 99.9% of the time, I also shoot in Manual most of the time as well. The one exception, street photography and landscapes. My main focus has always been people photography,,,Weddings, Portraits etc. With the 645Z (which I found to be Wonderful for Portraits and Formals at Weddings) Im now working more and more on Landscape photograpy and loving it. Didnt realize its harder than I though. But Progressing every day.

Tuco , Thank you for review, I very much appreciate it.. as for the 1/8th shutter, I was pretty surprised myself. Thats what the camera gave while shooting in Aperture Priority. It was mostly a dark overcast day underneath a strong canopy of trees on a trail. I got down on my knees and held the camera as steady as I could while having it rest on a railing on the small bridge. This is an HDR image, (Only 2 images). the other shot was with a small on camera flash at a shutter speed of 1/50. Im posting another one here of a shot I took just prior to this one with an ISO of 6400 at F/18.
Mahalo.

While Im Not giving up my Canon 5D's, ( they have their purpose), Im almost exclusively using my new 645Z, These Sampels taken in the Valley of the Temple on Oahu, Honolulu are what keeps me working at it more and more. The Detail in the Buddha (particularly the Large file) is extraordinary, the small stream, and yes it was fairly small is actually two images, one without the flash, and one with the flash, all images handheld. And Yes, I kicked myself for leaving the tripod in the car. Both with the 45-85mm lense. Which to me is still not the sharpest Pentax lense I have, maybe it just needs Image Stabilization.

Today I checked out the High Speed Sync feature with my 645Z,,, and the AF540FGZ II , seems to work just fine. I only tested it for a few minutes with shutter speed up 1250, ISO 100 and F2.8, Distances from 5ft to about 8ft. Ill do some more testing with a "model" soon. The AF540 is a good speed light, but certainly not the strongest, Im used to My Canon 600's. I also have a Metz 76 MZ-5,,, but it does not support HS Sync. (much to my dismay).

The Canon 5DM3, had a HI Speed Mode within the camera menu, the 645Z does not, least none that I have been able to find.
