The 15mm Limited controls my mind - club

Wonderful photo and thanks for the tip :) I thought I'd read somewhere that longer exposures can introduce more noise. Can you comment on that please? Is it a case of that applying only to very long exposures? From the EXIF data it looks like it was a 771 second exposure, which I would already consider to be quite long!

BTW, it looks like both the 40mm XS and the 35mm are still on special at Adorama. So either one would be under $200, with the 35mm being slightly cheaper.

Maybe the 18-55 for landscapes, stopped down a bit it's not that bad. Then in addition consider the DA 40mm XS, it's cheap, light, very small and will you give some prime lens quality IQ when you want it. It's pretty much the size of an oversized body cap...

What kind of things do you like to take photos of when travelling? Streets shots, architecture, portraits, landscapes? A mixture?

Just got a copy of the 15mm Limited, first outing on my K-x. The bokeh is a bit better than I expected...

LOL Thanks again for the lens, it's been great to go hiking with! I do need something wider for landscape shots though, I think I can faintly hear a 15mm Ltd calling my name... Here's another shot, this time from a recent caving trip.

Whoa you're good! I tried and couldn't find anything like that. Yes that was one of the first things I attempted and it's not budging at all in that direction... OK I think it really is stuck, probably batteries left in there for too long :( Thanks so much for finding that, much appreciated :)

Cool thanks, that's a good tip. Now I just need to figure out how to pop it open to insert batteries :D Hopefully someone knows, or else I have a sudden brainwave and work it out myself... Maybe it really is all corroded and stuck inside, which is why I can't seem to open it :hmm:

Thanks Jim, yes I've started coming across that too during the search for info. I haven't been able to find info on its trigger voltage so far either, so if someone knows that too, that would be useful info. I'm kind of hoping to get it open so that I can check whether maybe the batteries were left in and it's all corroded and unusable anyway. If I can't use it on my K-x I could still potentially use it on the Spotmatic.

I've just been given an old Holgon 280 SC flash, that Dad used to use with his old Spotmatic. I feel like I've failed an IQ test, but I actually can't work out how to open it to change the batteries :o From my research, it is supposed to take 4 AAs... Any tips please? Does anyone remember this flash?

I was lazy and the original was linked from Facebook, I guess they're not exactly known for their superior jpg compression :D

That's probably more due to my not so good PP and the way I linked it, hopefully this shows it a bit better. BTW, the micro 4/3 option sounds good :D

I bought the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS15 a few months ago (for under $200) and love the versatile 16x zoom (24-384mm). What kind of pictures does he like to take? Family shots, travels pics etc? Here's a sample shot showing the wide angle.
