So since it was listed as not working. What was wrong with it? I am assuming if nothing else it is still usable wide open.

I have seen this before. The seller puts high enough prices, as he is soliciting best offers from buyers. Unless some unsuspecting unknowing buyer comes along most will do the best offer option.

Am I correct in assuming that the K-5 ii focusing screen is the same as the K-5? Meaning that the one cut by focusingscreen would work with the K-5 ii.

Better than me, (besides that I am also waiting on that 8mm Rokinon) I thought that I had placed an order on this bag shortly after it was posted, I was on a trip at the time and it was late. Come to find out, I could not find the order confirmation anywhere or my CC being charged for it. So not only the BBA/LBA urge not being fullfilled, but never would be since it was never ordered... :). I checked again it seems like they got a couple more in, or returns, and the website took my order for one, so hopefully it really went through.

AE-L question

Then the suggestion of using fill flash above would have been the best solution if you wanted the background not to be overexposed. You could also, in theory edit the picture to only raise the exposure value of the subject only, but I am guessing that is more work than what you are looking to do.

AE-L question

I have a K-01 and with a manual lens, I would just aim it then press the green button (set to Tv shift) so that it sets the shutter speed at appropriate exposure. The exposure then would not change, do not believe the AE-L option is useful there.

I mean spot metering. You can use the other methods. But spot metering would give the most precise control.

In the example here, I would have aimed it at her face. But basically it depends where you want the meter to expose properly for.

Usually you would switch to center point metering. Then aim that at the location you want the exposure to be. Then press AE-L to lock it. Then you can recompose and take your shot.

Remember to press again to go back to it metering normally. Or it will be unlocked after the camera goes to sleep (timed off) and you wake it up again.

Tedd05,
I will probably not have too many suggestions to your questions, but I do have a suggestion that might help others let you know the value of what you have found. Could you please include as much detail about the lenses you found as part of your post. As I believe that most of the value of what you have found is probably in the lenses.

As another information point here is a link on how you would attach those manual lenses and set up the newer cameras to use them. I know the lenses from the spotmatic would require an adapter to be able to mount to the newer digital cameras (M42 vs PKA)

In the K-01 which should be the same, if the lens has the 'A' setting and it is set to it. You can use Av mode on the camera, Auto ISO is then available for use. If you do not have the 'A' setting on the lens, then you would need to use Manual and Fixed ISO to be able to do the metering with green button method, after you change the green button to 'Tv Shift' option in the menus for manual mode.

If it has the 'A' setting, then you can use the camera to set it. If it does not, then you would use the ring on the lens, and also do not forget to set the menu option in the camera to allow the aperture ring on the lens to be used.

Manual Focal lens length setting

Sorry to resurrect this thread but my question applies... Should we be entering the equivalent focal length or the actual focal length of the lens? i.e. 50mm film lens or the APS-C equivalent.

Thanks
