Low light shots on the Canon RP? Here's a video worth watching: Can a smartphone camera compete? Pentax would be smart to invest more effort in computational photography IMO, especially with the GR.

There's just no way I could carry that lens around. Even for $2000 it would be a pass for me.

FWIW at my business I have two goals that go hand in hand.

One: Make money
Two: Please my customer

Giving the customer what he/she thinks they want when they walk in may not please them and make me money.

IMO you're underselling yourself. With the number of companies that need product shots you'e missing an opportunity. You really should begin a plan for monetizing it starting with some self-promotion on social sites. You're already most of the way there.

I've watched several Sony guys do the same thing. They've spent $thousands on their camera's and gear but don't understand how to use it effectively. Eye focus doesn't fix everything. :/

Any Goodwill shoppers?

I've just never had much luck with any of the Goodwill stuff, well at least the two times I've purchased online from them. One lens was in really poor cosmetic condition and the other had a bit of fungus when I got it. I won't bother with them any more.

Learn to pose models?

Look into some of the photography MeetUp groups.

We started one here last year emphasizing portrait work and have managed to get a half dozen models to regularly contribute their time. We'll generally have at last 6-12 photographers at each of them and anywhere from 3 to as many as 5 at one of them. A couple of the models are very experienced and need little to no direction which is a big assist when you're just starting out with the genre.

FWIW one of the local shoots will get 2-3 dozen models for one of it's annual events, with photographer numbers limited to no more than 3 per model, two preferred.

That's a great shot, excellent depth and I like very much how you handled the color.

You do consistently good product shots. I hope it's a major focus of your business 'cause you're excellent at it

Yeah, I'm still a bit lukewarm on mine as well tho I haven't truly given it a chance. It's one of those 'tweeners for me, not what I'd usually reach for if shooting portraits/people stuff nor what I'd feel a need to carry for landscapes tho I have done both. I suppose it hasn't impressed me yet since it tend to leave it behind so often.

That was one of the first lenses I picked up for my K50 a few years ago. I liked it OK at the time but it never seemed as sharp as everyone was claiming. Sold it on eBay.

Then two years ago I picked up another copy on the cheap, figuring it would make a decent lens to toss in the slingbag for those "just in case" times. I think I used it twice in teh past two years and TBH not even sure where it is at the moment. Still not one I really wanted to use and so I didn't.

I'm personally not impressed with it.

With the attention apparently paid to speeding up operations (finally, and how many versions so far??), better cataloging and preview, and some very good new features, On1 2020 now looks like a far more viable option for those wanting a single program to replace LR that doesn't need a subscription.
