Perhaps you can view LV in sunlight. I cannot, so MILC would gain various features for me at the cost of others.

The “white” {Made in Japan} solenoid is no longer made - the only source of them is dismantling old cameras - so the “green” solenoid is what is used for new production and ‘official’ repairs..

Negatives will always scan much better than prints do.

If i were you, the first thing I would do it to explore possible avenues to scanning the actual negative.

The K-1 is also "FF".
Some people will gain from what the K-1 offers them, and others will have absolutely no use for it.

Today, I finally filled the Squirrel feeder, and since it was a holiday, I used all whole peanuts {instead of the "Squirrel and Critter" feed - mostly corn} that I usually use.
Here I show a Squirrel 'chowing down', and one waiting for his turn.

Our family celebrated Thanksgiving via FaceTalk today. While the ladies gabbed, I grabbed my K-30 and took several photos out the window. The day is fairly dark here today, so my 55-300mm PLM made sense today {even though I can use it only fully open on that camera}, even though at 800 ISO {the highest I'm ready to push it} things were darker than I would prefer. For awhile, the Squirrels had to wait for the Blue Jays to tire before they could eat at the Squirrel feeder {the Jays really like the whole peanuts I provided on this holiday}.

Yes, telephoto doesn't need much separation to give 'bokeh', and sometimes it is very nice.

Thank you for your comment.

We leave so many written records - and so many old landfills like this - I doubt if archeologists of the future will ever dig here ..... but it would be interesting.

For the immediate future, the 'dump' will be forgotten as the area slowly develops as an urban Bird sanctuary {and if oak trees take root, perhaps even some Squirrels will move in}

The same locomotives are used all over the BNSF territory - from LA to Chicago. They even lease them out to the Norfolk Southern, and we see them here on routes here East of Chicago. Some of the ventilation is directly attached to the engines to provide direct cooling to the engines themselves. They are very powerful beasts.

The last time I was in Gallup was four years ago when my train stopped there, but that was night time. We stopped there by car nearly twenty years ago - I guess the area has changed a lot since then.

I am not saying that Nikon should make such an adapter.
I am saying that this situation confuses Nikon users, and ultimately confusion can not be good for Nikon.

Perhaps you don’t consider that to be an issue, but several people have posted on another discussion forum {not DPR} that none of their lenses would focus on their new Z7 ..... and it turned out that all the lenses depended on screw-drive. The last time I checked, some Nikon lenses sold by B&H were screwdriver.

Welcome! It is nice to know that one can use a camera for such a long time.

I also began photography over fifty years ago, but after using rangefinder cameras 1969-79, I got a Pentax ME/SE in 1979, then switched to KA lenses in 1983, and to AF in 1995, and to digital in 2007.

Am I nuts for wanting manual focus primes?

I switched from Pentax to Canon in 1995 because I liked their EF/usm AF lenses so much better than what Nikon and Pentax were using at the time {and then I came back to Pentax 2014-15 because Canon Rebel bodies were not reliable enough for me}.

That said, it depends entirely on your preferences. I use AF because it works better than MF does for me and for the majority of subjects I photograph, but if you are different, then you should make the decision that is best for you.

More than bodies, Nikon needs to work on lenses. This is place where Canon has a real advantage over both Nikon and Pentax, because every EF lens {over thirty-five years of them} can be used with their Adapter, but many Nikon and Pentax lenses are screw-driven. Screw-driven lenses cannot be used with Nikon's Adapter, and likely Pentax would have made the same decision if they had made a MILC mount.

Yes, Squirrels show their talent amongst tree limbs.
I tell my cats that they really don't want to chase Squirrels - firemen no longer rescue cats when they discover that they cannot match what Squirrels routinely do 'up there'.

and a couple of hours of your time.

I used to say that my employers paid for my time so that I could pay others for their time.
Now that I have a bad back, my view definitely has not changed.
