I think its boring to take pictures just for myself, so I post my favourite photos on Flickr just to show them around.
I upload them in full resolution and under CC license.
If someone likes my photos, uses them on (non commercial) websites, prints posters or shirts, Im happy.

There are so many average photographers out there trying desperately to sell their pictures, that there is no need for me to become one of them :)

I went to India a year ago,
had a K5, 18-135, DA40, FA77 with me.

I took 90% of the photos with the 18-135 and it did really well.

I would recommend to take only a flexible Zoom (WR if possible, but for rainy days a plastic bag and tape is not the worst option) and your favourite prime for available light and somewhat special pictures --> you will be happy about every kilo you dont need to carry around.

Had no problems with thieves or anything,
but make sure to find a secure and secret place for your SD-cards (had around 200GB of them :)).

I enhanced the colors in some of the pictures, but the light there is really kind of special.
The air pollution increases in the course of the day, but near the coast it is not that bad, that is the reason why I liked Mumbai a lot (chance to breath fresh air from the ocean).

Your right there are big crowds everywhere, the Mumbai-shots are taken at morning/evening and I did my best to avoid huge crowds in some photos...

Last December I visited two friends who did a three months internship at MIT Manipal, for travelling around in India for three weeks...
It was the first time I left Europe and I took a backpack with me which was a around 20kg.
Three weeks is way too less time to explore this huge country but we tried to see as much (tourist traps :) ) as we could.

Our route was the following:
Manipal (Karnataka) - Goa - Mumbai - Jaipur - Agra - Delhi - Mammallapuram

It was not easy to decide what lenses to take with me,
finally I took the 18-135 WR, DA40 and FA77 with and left my Sigma 8-16 at home.

I took around 4000 photos, sounds like a lot but in India there is a possibility for a nice photo at every corner.
Around 3000 photos were shot with the 18-135, about 500 with each of the Limiteds.

Now Ive chosen some of the best photos to post them here, if you like them I can add some more or you can visit my Flickr account where I will upload some more.

If you have questions about my trip, interested in something, comments, critique or something else feel free to answer!

I hope you enjoy watching...

I like the sky and the glowing at the horizon,
the mountain in the foreground is quite noisy (ISO 4000 and 20s not easy for every camera).

Maybe you could try to darken the shadows a bit,
so that only the silhouette of the mountain remains.

Great photos, especially in number 8 I wish I could take a ride...

Im really interested, how easy it is to find a place to sleep in Burma while traveling?

I went to India for a (too short) trip and were surprised how easy it was to find a hostel every night without planning anything,
did you just stay the nights with people you met or is it easily possible to find hostels (or similar) there?
