I Sold the KP I bought for myself from Ricoh to a lady in my Photography Club here in Sun City. I sold it for $5 more than I paid.
Immediately ordered a Perception Sound 10.5 Kayak from Amazon that will be delivered Friday morning !
Had enough $$$ left over that I am also in process of buying a nice used Old Town Dirigo 120 Kayak for $200 (a steal) but I cant pick it up until Friday also.
Looking forward to getting out on the local water for some pics Soon !
Im keeping the Dirigo for sure and will outfit it for Fishing/Photography and overnight river camping.....the extra kayak will be for someone to come along that doesn't have one yet wants to Go !
I was all pumped up to get a SOT full blown fishing Kayak , but after reality set in I went with what I already knew and felt comfortable with for skinny water and small streams and lake coves. Plus I saved a BUNCH of money in the process.
I will be using my old trusty beater KP while on the river around water....the New KP still has zero clicks and I haven't even put a battery in or mounted a lens....still sitting in its box neglected.....lol

I plan on pushing it until its dead ! Thats really the only reason I wont sell it , because I need/want to know exactly how far it can go !

---------- Post added 12-26-19 at 11:01 ----------

ROFLOL......Yeah ! I know all to well what happens on Boats and around water.....Been there and done that !
I don't really want to go there again , but also know it WILL happen again sooner or later......Thinking.....thinking...:hmm::hmm::eek::cool:

I used a Old Town Dirigo 12' sit inside kayak for 7 years(Love/Hate relationship) and I finally killed the hull last month by dragging it over rocks until it finally split wide open. That boat saw the death of three cameras before it was over. My new SOT Kayak will have a proper camera mount and quick dry storage ability before it ever hits the water.

I think You are on to something here ! I will keep my old beater KP and also keep the one she gave me. However....the one I bought will go up on the marketplace soon !
I can get a lot more enjoyment from a new Kayak and a new KP !

---------- Post added 12-25-19 at 15:46 ----------

3 of the same is ok for old film bodies.....but not for DSLR's.....lol
Im not exactly Camera shy on bodies if you know what I mean.

About 3 weeks ago I got into the RICOHHOLIDAY Promo sale for $589.95 and scored a New KP direct from Ricoh. I received it a little over a week ago.....Very Happy !
Today... I opened my Christmas Gift box from my close lady friend/companion that's on a once in a lifetime 2 month cruise with her daughter , and what to my amazement do I find ? That's right ! A Brand new KP from the same sale from Ricoh !
I am very very Blessed this year , but what do I need two new KP's for ? I still have my old KP that's well beat with almost 60K from over two years ago and still going strong...:D:eek::o.
Should I sell one of the new ones ? ….or.... keep both of them with one for future use ?
I wont part with my original beater KP as I now have strong "Feelings" for it.....lol
I DO need a new Crescent Lite Tackle Kayak really bad.....I could sell this latest new KP and hopefully not have to explain myself down the road.....hmmmm….lol.
Descisions….descisions…...I sure don't like to "explain"myself to anyone......thinking.....thinking.

I only have 3 modern AF Pentax lenses , but the DA 35 Limited macro is the only one that needed anything. I think is was a +2 IIRC.

Basically 1984-2000 depending on which version of the 200mm lens you have.

14 bodies , and 36 lenses ?
Are the lenses really Body caps ? Or are the bodies serving as Lens Caps ?
This is the age old question that must be answered to determine the true depth and full extent of your illness !
I suspect that you are deeply infected with one of the sub-classes of acquisition syndromes that runs rampant on this forum !;)
Not to worry though as you seem to have only the "K" variant of this syndrome at the moment.

Actually the DA 55-300 L version does quite nicely until you can afford the PLM version. I sniped mine off Ebay for $26 last year ! Its plastic and cheap feeling but I sure wont be selling it even though I now have the PLM version.

Cant answer for the OP but I buy at least 6 extra batteries for every camera I own. Hard to find a charger while 100 miles out in the desert or on an extended hiking or kayak trip. Plus....these are Pentax not like the DSTE ones I get.
This is a really good deal !
Bump ! Someone needs to jump on this pronto !

Takumar/Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 500mm F4.5 VS. 500mm Mirror Lens

Honestly …...learning from past experience I would pass on any Mirror lens. Just too many issues.
The 500mm Takumar on the other hand can produce some really nice images and the PF cleans up easily in post.

Just won a LX , ME Super , and a rather rare K1000 SE Variant

OK....
I finally got the package delivered today !
#1......Good news is the ME Super is absolutely new looking and functions 100% as new ! All I did was clean it up a bit and Im very pleased with it completely , and can find nothing wrong cosmetically or mechanically.
It came with a SMC-M 50mm f2.0 lens that is also extremely clean , and a nice Pentax nylon case. I was very surprised the meter worked immediately , but changed the batteries anyway.

#2.....The K1000 SE with the Diamond grip pattern was next ! the ASA dial goes to 3200 as is standard with the SE variants. It shows some obvious wear and a bit of brassing here and there. Also has a few noticeable scuffs on top the prism housing , and the back pressure plate was very dirty. It will also need new seals on the film door. I popped in a new battery and the meter seems to work perfect ! Other than some wear I cant find any issues at all.
The lens is a SMC-M 135mm 3.5 that is missing the little white button on the distance scale ring....no biggie as a bead works great from past experience. Lens is good to go after a thorough cleaning....dried gunk was on the focus barrel....ick ! Im also quite pleased with this one although it shows lots of use.

#3.....Now for the LX ! Clean ! Very Clean ! Has a small dent on a corner of the bottom plate. Batteries are shot for meter. Shutter works fine only from X sync to 2000 ? Shutter/mirror close but wont open back up below with settings below X sync unless I move selector back to X sync ? Im hoping this is part of the metering system but don't know yet...…..Im still in the process of cleaning and need to get a set of batteries...….I will post back after while.
The lens is a SMC-M 75-150 and is absolutely Mint. Came with a new looking black case. Included was a AF200S flash that also works and looks mint !
The verdict is still out on this one until I go further , and I am a bit bummed over the dent on the bottom.
UPDATE !.....I swapped batteries from the ME and the shutter works perfect through all settings now..... YES ! It sounds great with no dragging or noticeable issues that seem to plague the LX shutter. My initial feeling is this is a SCORE on my first LX and I cant wait to shoot some film and also will post up some pics when I return from Batteries Plus after while. Now Im much more relieved.

Are the Focal brand name lenses any good?

Ive used a few Focal branded lenses such as a 28mm and a 50mm.
Payed next to nothing for them (less than $5) and as I remember there is nothing bad with them....just an average film era lens.
Found the quality to be about like a Ricoh or Sears lens and they sure did the job ok !
I however would avoid most Zooms unless doing you homework thoroughly first.
