a few freebies, a bag with 10 film cameras, mostly old plastic point and shoots but there was a yashica T4 (in great working order) and a TDC Stereo Colorist II with rodenstock lenses (needs a serious CLA) , the same person cave me somewhere in the region of 50 assorted art books (she collected over the years working at galleries)..

what a score. seller is obviously to lazy to do a quick google search (which would lead to the forum database and the average price of 406 for the body. (i've seen them sell for more regularly too) Well done Douglas

It has been a while since i posted anything on this thread. Last week I joined a local artist co-operative (Gallery 44) , and one of the benefits is below market rental rates on a variety of equipment, I pick up my first rental this friday a Toyo45 Viwew camera and some film holders, to that end I picked up 25 sheets of fp4 and 2 x 20 packs and Fuji 160ns (and some b/w chemicals rodinal stop and fix so i can do my own fp4 and some 120 film i have to process from my fuji 690).. the gallery has a large darkroom for members and the abilty to print from as large as 8x10 negs (and a Deardorff is available as well, though it is far less expensive to get the view camera experience on 4x5) hoping that among other things the fall colours step it up a bit , it's been so warm i'd need to drive 4 hours north at this point

I just went from a 4 slice to a 2 slice last time we changed. it actually toasts faster and was cheap to boot . if i was to get a 4 slice again i'd probably want a 208v commercial one so it would be as fast

ha I had to go back over 1000 pages of posts to find that story. Funnily enough, Air France has always been an excellent flight for me (even with short time between flights) my wife has bad knees and for the longest time never took advantage of early boarding , still when returning from Venice through cdg with a tight delay they took us too the other end of terminal on a golf cart and we made it with minutes to spare, so did our luggage . I was impressed.
I haven't flown them lately as I stick to star alliance members for my air miles program. and now my wife happily uses the needs assistance option. we flew through CDG with her in a wheelchair that i pushed, .....long customs cattle pens...nop not for us boom right through, even longer security lines....once again nop bang on though. and board plane before the rest so lots of overhead luggage space. at the other end transport waiting to get us through as well. I would like her to get her issue fixed so we could walk further when we travel but damn i'd miss the special treatment

Bought a spyder 24 colour chart. I'm shooting more studio w 2 bodies and different lenses, I've already colour corrected monitors and printer so getting lens/body profiles for my various used combinations will make for a much better workflow with consistency. It will be good for shooting matched video as well

Geoduck is pretty damn tasty Jim you will like it when you finally get the chance. I'm personally very fond of Razor Clams, but all and any shellfish is great, and Octopus is one of my favourites. When we were in Lisbon a couple of years ago it was a staple on every single menu, in 16 days it was my meal of choice at least 8 times
This September I will be in Paris and will go for a massive (and likely pretty expensive) seafood feast that will include several types of Oyster, Mussles, Langoustine, Lobster, Mussle, Scallops.... and a bottle of bubbly , total bill will be in the 120 euro range per person but you only live once

When i moved out i went to just an off air antennae. because of the way I face I only reliably get 6-7 stations. 90% of my watching is now streaming (Netflix and Amazon primarily) supplemented by downloads. I watch a lot more movies now ;)

Robertson is the correct term named after the Canadian who invented them. Pretty universal here except on anything imported where they always seem to have a mix of philips and slot

At this point, I don't have a single Zoom. I do however have 2 camera bodies so I can work quickly. I manage to cover live events without issue using just 2 bodies and primes (almost always i have 4 with me and use 2 lol) In studio like digitalis said you have control over the environment. I can see uses for a good zoom (and in fact, i had 2 kit ones for my wife) . on a walkavbout i can easily spend days with just a single prime provided it's the right one (I lean towards wide and ultrawide for that)

I was never really a text person, but I have one friend who I communicate all the time via WhatsApp (better than standard messaging app I think because I can use online as well) ........it can suck time so fast though frequently I realise we have been having a conversation for several hours when i realise its 3 am . its not as nice as face to face but it is a great communication method
