Wow, that's a significant crop indeed! All the more impressive. And a very very small spider.

That looks tiny indeed, am i mistaken or is the spider slightly out of focus? The water droplets seem sharpest.

Yup, even when the Sami did/do have teepee-like structures, it's probably art. Meant to mean something. We have lots of these roundabouts over here and quite a few of them are filled with 'art'

These images bring back memories of our visit to Bergen. Did you go up the mountains to Fjellsiden, where the white wooden houses are?

I believe that the colour combination of red and white is used throughout Europe for long-distance trails (GR's), shorter regional trails can have all sorts of markings mostly dependent on the local clubs that maintain them, I know that yellow and red are used in the Netherlands and the Club Vosgien has yet other markings.

These are excellent, Rob! As to WB, have you tried CTE? My guess is that it won't try to make it all white. Or are you shooting RAW?

Actually, I like the increased contrast, but I prefer a bit more space for that cloud, so in that regard I like the first one better.

The stairs in the University's new exam building. Austere concrete meets spilled coffee, loads of nervous students (now taking their exams) and a professor with some time on his hands.

Uhuh, there's got to be some tarmac underneath all that mud and water ;-) Suspension and tyre repair shops will make a decent living, I guess.

Indeed, the astrophotography group even has a lens test database with images taken with various lenses and f-stops are available. There will definitely be plenty of experience with lenses and their astro-usability over there.

I can't really tell from your images, but if the triangles all have their 'tails' pointing away from the centre of image, you're dealing with coma. If the effect is in one corner, it could also be a titled element causing astigmatism. An image of the stars is the best way to diagnose this, as the city lights may also be distorted for another reason (atmospherical distortion). Some lenses take very significant stopping down to avoid it. Good luck with this.
