If you have an odd number of items, then one can be in the middle. With an even number, the middle is an empty space. \_(ツ)_/

On my older Pentax cameras (*ist DS, K20D) the oranges came out much brighter than expected, at least when printing. Not sure if that is related or not, since there is the added complexity of the printing system.

With New Lenses Coming is K-1iii on the Horizon?

Yes, but a significant factor is that the files are only 2/3 the size of the K-1.

I recall seeing a chart of write speeds here in the past; the K-1 writes faster than the K-5, but not as fast as the K-3.It was kind of a skunk-works project that the engineers were working on, so it probably took a while to come out, so the technology they started with was a bit outdated on release.

I don't need speed of light write times, but the K-1 was a significant step down from the K-5 and K-3. Maybe double the buffer size and that would help a lot, but hopefully they would improve both the buffer and write speeds in any future K-1 update.

I'm pretty sure the FA43 was supposed to be an answer to the Konica lens, but it has it's own charms and benefits (if you're not familiar).

The sensor technology doesn't seem outdated to me, but I very much look forward to a bigger buffer/faster writing. Not all of us subscribe to that "landscape camera" marketing.

Maybe the problem is your NiMHs - if you haven't used the camera in some time, you maybe haven't used those batteries a lot lately, either.

Light leak may not affect all the frames if it is a small one. It would affect the frames that were sitting near the leak longer, like if you took some photos in quick succession, they might have unnoticeable leaks.

"Green mode" corresponds to the "AUTO" setting on the KP's mode dial. On other Pentax cameras, instead of saying "AUTO" it has a green square there. And in the cases where it says AUTO, like yours, it is written with green letters.

On my K-1 I use the FA 31 as my standard lens. I like the wider angle-of-view for close-up photography of people, and it is also good for photographing buildings. On the K-3 III the DFA 21 has a very similar field of view. At one point, the 35mm focal length was the standard lens that was widely in use for much photography, which is pretty similar to what we are talking about here.

But it is also a 2-dimensional image capture of a 3-dimensional scene. If the camera isn't held perfectly perpendicular to the scene - for some definition of what elements you consider the "scene" plane - you can get different effects if things (like the droplets) are moving three-dimensionally and not staying in any particular plane, as the camera tries to compensate for the movement.

It emphasizes the blue of the sky, and also increases saturation of the green in the photo. KATEN, I guess, means "summer sky", so the idea seems to be that it emphasizes the summery aspects in photos then with that setting.

I've used a view-master camera, but haven't used it a lot. The "shift" method probably works reasonably well, but you are limited to photographing mostly still scenes.

It doesn't mess with the limiteds' rendering, just adjusts the colors. But you also can chose not to use those profiles with your limiteds.

The firmware doesn't really change size based on how many fixes are in it; you get a whole new replacement firmware each time, it's isn't just adding only the new things on top of the old firmware in the camera. The K-3 III firmware is probably always larger than the older cameras' firmware.

The biggest risk would be that many years in the future, DNG would be more likely supported than a proprietary camera format. But if you're using Linux, the open source PEF reader might still be maintained.
