Im trying to fire the shutter remotely using the Yongnuo RF602 or RF603 trigger.. No flash involved Dave...!!

---------- Post added 10-02-19 at 02:09 PM ----------

Sounds good taktoon. I have the 560tx unit. Not quite sure what you mean but will have to give that a try out...

---------- Post added 10-02-19 at 02:34 PM ----------

Thanks all. and Sluggo for the pic. Really helped. Sorted the shutter firing problem out.. I was being a bit stupid and using the x-sync socket as I was earlier watching a youtube vid and thats what they used on a Nikon camera.

But now I have a different problem and by connecting the trigger lead to the remote socket. It kills the rear display. So no menu display, live view or pic of image taken. until I take the Jack lead out... Any ideas on this...?

Has anyone used any of the Yongnuo rf triggers to remotely fire the shutter on a Pentax camera ? I'm trying to connect them to my K1 to fire the shutter but without success. Trigger is firing reciever is recieving the signal. Connected the reciever to the X-sync socket on the K1 But the shutter isnt firing.. Also tried setting the remote setting on shutter menu. No success. So is it possible ? What am I doing wrong ?

af-360fgz for off-camera with K-1?

If its indoor... Forget speedlights altogether. Get on Ebay and get yourself a second hand 400 or 500W strobe.. And manual trigger. Not only can you plug it in an forget it. Fire it as quickly and as often as you like. But will have the invaluable modelling bulb. This is invaluable for seeking out where the shadows or highlights are when setting up your subject.

I also love off camera flash. Totally agree with Inkista's comments. No need to throw immense amounts of money at it at first.. !! As Class A say's. A $5 trigger and receiver will work. You will just be required to do a little more walking.
Firstly you need to sit down and before picking equipment. Pick your prefered subject matter.. As this will determine the majority of your choices. As you can see here. Most of the guys plumped for more than a single speedlight. So expense has to be kept under control. But things can be added to along the way.. Right now I think it would be foolish not to look at Godox. But it's by no means the only answer. Never had an ultimate use for HSS or TTL yet. So don't pay for things you may or may not use.. ? Depends how much you want to spend ?

If you want to stay Manual the Yongnuo YN560 IV & Tx560 trigger is superb.

And then there's modifiers.......? To start out the fold up ones from Amazon are very good..

Yes I have.. And like you seem to be. Have also been suitably impressed. Its just its price that makes me shy away.. Maybe I just think I would use an 85 mm more and await that... I never said the 50mm is a poor lens. Just in my opinion expensive...!!

I have no data also. But other members of this thread keep posting that the Pentax market share as a whole is 2%. I'm not about to call them misinformed. But as this would be all Pentax product. It could easily be assumed the K1 or K1 II hasnt sold in big numbers.

Has it been announced that Pixel shift can be used hand held yet...? I thought that to be a translation issue. By the way I love the K1. I own two. Just want to see a fair and balanced discussion.. Though I didnt upgrade either of them..

Not sure that quite so true...
RICOH IMAGING EUROPE S.A.S. is pleased to announce the launch of an upgrade service that allows existing PENTAX K-1 users to add the advanced functions of the new PENTAX K-1 Mark II to their camera.

They did discontinue the K1. It just hung around so long because they couldn't sell the pre manufactured stock so quickly. They hoped it would attract owners from other brands in large numbers. But the truth is it didn't...!!

They disagreed with the fact that it was a new camera. Which it wasnt. Which was why they voted against it. Not because of its quality as a camera. It was just an upgrade.. In my mind they didnt say anything wrong.. Just the Pentaxians being over possesive,,

Suggestions for a flash for weddings and indoor events

Yes ...On camera flash. P-ttl all of the time. Bit more coverage from the Shanny as it's a little more powerful. Both are well built flash units. With the Pentax probably edging it on quality of build. But considering these days its three times the the price. It would be expected. That's the big reason I no longer take it into an event day senario. Where the hustle and bustle of the day can easily get things damaged. (At present Pentax have no official repairer in the UK) For me, when using a flash at events. It comes down to trust and reliability. Can the ttl system return a well exposed image ? A lot of the time you are taking quick candid shots. Running and gunning..!! Cant fire the flash directly. At least grab something you can work on when you get home. And both units have delivered this for me.
It may just be my Pentax unit. But I find the head a little weak when in the bounced tilt position. Difficult to support a modifier. Which the Shanny certainly isnt.

My opinion is when you are purchasing your flash. You have to sit down and analyse before you purchase your flash. What it is exactly what you want it to do.. If you eventually want to build up an off camera wireless system. Then you should steer towards the Pentax units. Or rear curtain sync captures. Other than that, off the top of my head the Shanny can equal all other features, just as well. At a third of the price. A decent quality. Easily affordable reliable unit. Some bells n whistles not all.

The Shanny SN600FGZ should not be so easily overlooked. Its well built and has a good spec. Been using it at weddings for two years now no complaints. Choose it over my Pentax AF540FGZ most of the time.

Im not moving the goalposts but just replying to Craig's comment on the 70-200 third party supply to Sony. He knowing full well that it's one area where there is a gap. I was just pointing out Pentax have such areas to. I already own all of these lenses and in general love my K1's. So you have misqued my ramblings if you think it would ever be my intention to change brands.. Didnt get the DFA 50 as I accept its better quality than the present offerings but considered the price way to expensive.. (my decision) stuck with my FA50 1.4. Fa771.8. While I wait for a possible 85mm 1.4 Also have Sigma 105e macro 150-500. Dont do much very long work. Tamron 28-75.. Did buy two or three legacy lenses but quality was really poor and they ended up in the bin to be honest.. Various other lenses for my APSC cameras I wont list also...

---------- Post added 29-12-18 at 08:07 PM ----------

So do I... Not WR though, So be careful.. It damaged one of my K1's when water leaked in through it while photographing on a beach... Keep your insurance up to date,,,,

---------- Post added 29-12-18 at 08:26 PM ----------

So you talk the biggest load of rubbish Ive evercome across.. So you didnt grow into your hobby and purchased all your lenses at the counter with your cameras did you ? Over the years you didnt try different Genres and needed different equipment along the way...And please dont refer to me as "ignorant"
