Why Pentax?

Started with Pentax as I had bad experiences with Minolta and Canon in humid enviorements. The only weather resistant camera I could afford was the K-7. Have only used Pentax since then but if I should change I'd probably change to Fujifilm as I do like their cameras. I'd not change to Nikon or Canon.

Just place it in the sun for 1-3 weeks ought to be enough. I did so with my 50mm and had no yellow after that. But are you shure you want to take away the yellow? I think it gives a special feeling to the photos and if I get a lens with this problem again I'll leave the yellow elements as they are.

He was a truck driver and mostly used the camera when driving around in Japan. Maybe he retired from both the truck driving and the camera. Anyway hope he is ok :)

leadguitarest: Nice photos with the 17mm.

Very long time since I saw any posts from Mike Cash in Takumar club, I really liked his photos. Anyone knows if I can find photos by him anywhere else?

I'm a little bit surprised so few use live view when doing macro. I think the magnified LV where one can seE the small details is very good. But of course only when the subject isn't moving.

I'd not go back so far in time. I'd just go back to the death of Adolf Hitler to make sure he really died in the bunker and how (by his own hand or with the help of others). The camera would be a Rolleiflex Automat 6x6 K4B.

Are you ready for Pentax FF?

Ready? Yes, have sold most of my APS-C lenses, only kept my DA15 and DA 18-135. Have instead bought a few FA lenses and already have many manual lenses. Money? No, problem. But do I want to buy a FF-camera? No, I'll keep using my K-5 the following years, it's good enough for me :)

There are a few excellent AF-primes that can be bought at very good prices. I'd recommend SMC Pentax-FA 50mm F2.8 Macro and SMC Pentax-FA 100mm F2.8 Macro. Especially the 50mm is a perfect walk around lens which is super sharp and it's an extra bonus that it's also a macro lens. The 100mm is just as good except for the fact it's a heavy lens (600 grams). These two lenses costs together less than a DA*50-135 so you'll save some money.

As you already have the best fast 50mm (the Takumar 50mm 1.4) prime you don't kneed anything else there :-)

I agree with Adam. Only selling within UK is a small market. Everyone within EU can buy without any extra Import Tax / Duty / VAT so if you if you sell within EU I'm sure you'll sell it soon. And if you have PayPal it will be easy to make the money transaction.

You write that the one for the battery grip was fully charged after a few minutes, I'm not sure that it means that it was fully charged. It could mean that the battery has gone bad and can't be charged any more. Have you tried all batteries directly in the camera to see if they are ok?

If the batteries after all are ok then buy six AA batteries and see how the camera behaves if you use those in the battery grip instead.
