Yep I agree with the slide show.

I just came back from Iceland and went to the photography museum in Reykjavik. The museum featured a local photographer with the usual prints on the wall and a paper guide.

In addition they setup a light table with some 120 positives you could view with a photo lupe, as well as a room with a slide show of the photographers work. That was the best part of the exhibit for me.

Sad news Fred Herzog passed away earlier this week:

Noted Vancouver photographer Fred Herzog dies at age 88 | Vancouver Sun

His local street photography of Vancouver in the 50's & 60's, using a Leica & shooting Kodachrome, are second to none. (He also used a P67 for his work at UBC)

Pentax FA*24/2 or A 20/2.8 ?

I have the FA*24/2 and A 20/2.8.

Both lenses are wonderful, so I would suggest also getting both the FA*24/2 and A 20/2.8. They are different enough focal lengths to justify having both and you can also never have too many lenses...:)

However if you go for the A 20/2.8 (or FA version) make sure you get a copy with the metal MH-RB67 OEM hood, this hood is almost impossible to find on its own.

Buying Japan Lenses....Rated as Exc++++.....then the fine print says differently ?

I've bought a lot of Pentax lenses/accessories from Japan and I generally find the condition listed in the auction title is the cosmetic condition of the lens.
There will usually be an "optics" section and that's where fungus/dust/haze and so on will be listed.

As previously mentioned you need to read the whole listing. I've been very pleased with most of my purchases from Japan, as long as they are not sent via surface mail that can take over two months, just to cross the pacific ocean to the west cost of Canada! I always opt for EMS shipping.

Welcome!

The K Series bodies did not come with a hot-shoe cover, so no need to worry. I've been using my KX without a hot-shoe cover since I bought new in 1975 and have had no issues. If any moisture gets on the hot-shoe just use a tissue to wipe it off.

Enjoy shooting film.

Pentax 50mm 1:1.4 m vs 50mm 1:1.4

The K50/1.4 is physically bigger, so you may find it to be a better handling lens than the smaller M50/1.4.

I prefer the bigger K Series lens, however you might not. As the optics/build are similar, that would be the deciding factor for me.

Congrats you'll like the Super Program! Just a heads up to read the manual on loading film and advancing to the 1st frame. The camera won't let you get extra frames in a roll as the meter defaults to 1/1000 until the film is advanced properly.

How OCD are you with your focusing screens?

I would send in the camera to Eric if you want the focusing screen properly cleaned. Sometimes there is noting you can do if it was scratched and you just have to live with the marks.

Yep same here in Canada and all of North America.

I have both the Super A & Program, the Super A is all black so looks a bit more stylish to me. Also mine is a special "1983 European Camera" of the edition, so a little extra bling...

I'd try Eric, he probably has a spare ME focusing screen and can do the swap for you.

This one is from back in October 2010, just before Dwayne's stopped processing Kodachrome. I shipped the film from Buenos Aires directly to Dwayne's in Kansas.

Pentax 67 Synch Cord for Flash

The AF400T is a great flash and the 6x7 bracket is getting hard to find. It would look good on your Crown Graphic, the LX bracket may even fit if you have it???

Pentax 67 Synch Cord for Flash

Yep the AF400T was pretty versatile and you had many flash sync cable options depending on if you were using the LX or 6x7/67, or if you wanted 1M or 5M. (4P sync A/B/C as well as the standard PC sync cable)

I also have the 6x7 bracket with my AF400T, as well as the 4P Sync Cord C that attaches to the AF400T flashes 4P terminal. (I also have the LX bracket but have never used it)

Not sure, check the web links in the other thread. They still may be a source for parts.
