Greeting. Long time not posting. Been busy with other formats but I used Q quite frequently. A

Schneider cine Xenon 13mm f1.5 d-mount . The design is 9-element I think. Lovely sharp len with creamy DOF. One of my favorite cine lens

On Q

Cooke Ivotal 13mm f/1.4 . Len is neither c-mount or d-mount, so you need to come up with a mount. Len performs well wide open and makes a decent portrait low-light len. One of the few rare 8mm cine lens.

I have cine-arco lens (6.5, 13, and 38mm I believe). They are decent lens stopping-down but weird bokeh. Cine arco lens come with different color, mine are black and yours is white

Glad you are enjoying looking at my amateur mods

Greeting fellow Arizona-ian :). I was busy shooting and generating ideas for 8x10 focal plane light traps :p . But anyway, here is my own 4x5 portable camera (hack-modded from a Polaroid 110A) with pentax Q as an electronic viewfinder. This particular 4x5 camera has a Rodenstock-Ysarex 127mm which is around ~36mm FOV as full-frame and I use a Navitar 6mm f/1.4 len which is ~35mm FOV as full-frame, so it is pretty close view. Also, a bit if parallax error but, hey, I can live with it.

Sure do. The len is in my closet but I will post picture of the mount eventually. It is pretty easy, just drill of a pentax Q body so that the hole fits the len mount and you should be fine. Make sure the wide focal length achieve infinity (a mm or 2mm differences in distance) and the rest of the focal should achieve infinity as well.

They were added later, part of shelf leftover stuffs. You can find these at home improvement stores such as Home Depot or maybe Walmart/Target . It can be seen in this album https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1486327384989419.1073742026.100008...1

It is not documented anywhere else. I jut salvaged whatever parts I can, and I found it it has similar size to pentax Q LCD when I removed part of the flash for the hotshoe part.

I look the front part of the flash (more salvaging) and made it into a removable hood, anti-glare while shooting in the sun. I don't have black rubber band at the moment, so I'm using blue. Also, the hood is providing a more wide look, in addition to 16:9 aspect ratio I set on the camera; I can still see the setting above and below the LCD

It is hard to take this picture with a phone camera but it is truly 100% anti-glare . The phone could not capture the scene on the Q's LCD

Aside from electronic viewfinder and live metering exposure, you can use the pentax Q as a sort of "digital polaroid proof" . This setup is similar to BMPCC's external monitor or even similar to the Pro8mm camera. With that being say, it is very lightweight and sturdy, and with a variable wide angle zoom, you can accommodate pretty much nearly all the wide angle film cameras without the need to change to the len on pentax Q.

I am sure it has been adapted before. Anyway, I have a DIY 6x12 camera, 6x6, and portable 4x5, planning to 6x17 and 6x24. Anywho, it is a pain to buy wide angle viewfinder for each camera, and they are not cheap. The idea is to use Pentax Q as a live electronic viewfinder, WITH variable zoom/fix zoom that can also metering the scene (I can do exposure exterior/interior manual mode in my head but that is another story). Pentax Q has a wide selection of 3rd party lens; I already modded the canon/ ultrak CS-mount 3.5-8mm , as well as various lower focal prime lens. I combined a leftover hotshoe part with a leftover super8mm hand-grip together. While there is definitely some parallax error, the pentax Q give me a pretty idea of the scene range aside from the built-in optical viewfinder. Anyway I attached some shots
