Poll: Expired Contest Poll VOTE NOW - Photo Contest #142 Poll (Rivers and Fjords - June 2018)

I'm frank, whether you like it or not.

One part is about rivers, the other shows fjords. Absolutely independent. It is wrong to vote with __one__ vote for ___two___ subjects.

Another issue, why botched images were nominated? Botched by processing mainly. I know, "De gustibus..." etc, but apart from "fun" such contests should convey a little photo knowledge and fairness in photography. Not faked "fun" only.

My best regards and votum separatum. :(

P.S. A little acridity here and now weren't unjust.

#12 for rivers
#8 for fjords (or 14)

I upgraded my Buster Debian's kernel (testing version) and X Window System (Xorg) exploded. No images on two monitors I use every day. Not thinking I've lost a lot of days searching for the cause. Only after downgrading kernel to Stretch (stable) I regained my system workable. D**n it! Before sleeping hours I managed upload two images commenting paulh's last post. :)

Have a nice Summer days!

Regards :)

No problem with Macro mode x1 <-> x3 (zoom), but the last one needs to move back a little to frame the subject. On the other hand the "x3 bokeh" phenomenon is weaker, but you know well the issues. :)

I'm really thankful for Your marvelous vision. :) If it was a real thing to happen at least... :)

BTW Both pictures lead to their gallery pages. You'll find there hyperlink to set of original shots and others. Click here:

The one thing I changed was a... mood. Giving the Dame a subtle smile. :) You might say I gave Her a Hope. :) That's all I could do. But it was me, the guy who turned back. You showed you are able to read intentions. Premonitions? ? Seventh sense? :)

Thank you, You brought me a hope on these Pentax forums. :)

My best regards,

You'll like it, I hope...

I suppose some pray for the K-1, others beg all earthly Forces, others enjoy themselves like kids. In other words fun for everybody.

I looked for other path to find sound path to find a little pleasures.

I made few shots through shop's window pane and turned it into very short story comprising with two images. It's up to you to point to the difference. :) :)

Have a fun too! :)

Thank you. I think it's high time to upload something not being touched by GIMP too. We'll see how the toys and shooters(!) might compete with each other w/o painting "electronic reality". :) :)

BTW. My Panasonic stymies "prof" works in full sunlights. I see nearly nothing on its LCD viewer and the image it presents there says nothing what it will be developed by Panasonic after I click the main button. :( I'm furious sometimes - wrong focus, wrong exposition, wrong composition, wrong light etc. Most settings according to the displayed data are wrong. It's work by guess with many shots. Nevertheless some pictures can be published right out from camera. :) We'll see. :)

Best regards

Both shots are 900 px H max, one is corrected, the other has diminished quality to 85% only. But the size erases most of the differences between the original shot and corrected one. :(

It doesn't mean Black & White. I roamed that path some days. Not having flash lamps, but "special" magnifying glass and LED torch and two sources of light bulb flashlights (they give yellow light) I'm using high noon Sun rays. They are so strong that camera dims background to 98% blackness. Only one caveat - you should shoot close to window as Sun is high on the sky. Window highly makes efficient directional floodlight. Let's see. Of course I had to touch the shots with GIMP's paintbrush. :)

My best regards

No matter what one's using camera during the first learning years. Even grown up shooters jump back to the Past to check how to "it was"far, far away in Time. :)
I'm still standing in the nice period named Back to the Future. :) Someday maybe.

But I did not find out my unique types of shots. Just like others, I'm still searching for what would please me above other photo pleasures. In other words it's highly probably that I will never ever be one type shooter. Too much wonderful subjects around me which beg to be shot. :)

Here are few latest uploads.

My best regards

P.S. Sometimes "toy" cameras can, but when and how it's unpredictable. :(

Ma'am, Olympus XZ-1 camera is not a "toy"! Contrary to the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LS80 I'm using.

Nevertheless you touched interesting point of view. My real toy cameras are/were very capricious, I've never known why they, especially Panasonic, it selects some settings and "open" itself for night shoots. Forget those Scene Mode. Panasonic gives images with fine grain in good light but in shadows and bigger and bigger color grain from 200 to 400 ISO. So photographing in the night is a lottery, for me at least with that camera.

On the other hand such a toy may be a nice tool for testing night compositions. Of course, I had to help yourself with GIMP, then and today. Two images from living room window were taken few years ago and they had been corrected then. The one with road zebra was shot from kitchen, but I had to straightened up whole composition. All enhanced shots together with ful size and downsized siblings were placed in the Nights in My Eyes Album on Yandex Disk.

See yourselves how far behind Pentax lenses and its DSLRs. One cannot results from Zero. :(

If you want to compare night pictures with their versions, run through
A Study on Night Shots album from Yandex Disk.

Best regards

P.S. I've corrected address to Yandex album.

Thank you. This thread is a little "neglected". :)

Oh, I didn't know that, I had to overlooked the forum. Thank you once more.

BTW. Toy cameras are not for night photos (pic.1), but if one think it may get like the other one (pic.2). :)

To watch on PC, excellent, too details to hang it on the wall. Depends on what images such beauty evokes in one's mind.
Regards

P.S. It exists millions of years. I wonder how come?!
