That one (smc 55-300 non wr) I found it on a local auction site, in fact a private seller site, not like ebay, more like craiglist. Just see pictures, read description. If buy it, i must to trust and believe the seller...
So, I prefer the new one (with warranty)

Yes, I found DA-L lenses, cheap of course, no one new, under 100$, without hood, but I don't like them. I suppose a good choice will be the new one WR, somewhere around 360$. There is a difference of 70$ between new and used one...

Yes, I use the camera during rain or snow. I never found used one with warranty, only new one. I'm talking around me and is a criteria to evaluate or testing it on my camera...

Hello.
I'm looking for a tele zoom lens for my Pentax K5. I can not change this camera in the next future and I have just a lens kit is SMC Pentax-DA L 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL WR ( and other fixed manual lenses). The budget is around 350 USD
I watch for a 55-300mm lens and find these (around me):
SMC Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED (used, around 160$)
HD Pentax-DA 55-300mm F4-5.8 ED WR (new in box with two years guarantee, 360$ and used aorund 290$)
HD PENTAX-DA 55-300mmF4.5-6.3ED PLM WR RE (new in box with two years guarantee, 460$) over the budget.
Which one could be a good choice? I'm not a professional, I just use the camera in vacancy, and occasionally.
Thank you.

Flash REGULA Variant 740-2MFD for Pentax K5

Hello.
I start this thread, because I bought a cheap REGULA Variant 740-2MFD flash. He has a five positions switch on back, one of them marked "Pentax". I did not find details or an user manual for this flash, but I want to use it with my Pentax K5.
I understand that Pentax genuine flashes have a triggering voltages up to 8Vcc. I read somewhere in Internet that Pentax digital cameras accepts up to 24V (am I wrong?), that means one camera support and could control, directly, three flashes connected (am I right?)
The REGULA Variant 740-2MFD flash light has a triggering voltage between 13.7-14.2 Vcc on "Pentax" position switch (in fact, these voltages are on all five switch positions) and, in theory, it could be supported by Pentax K5.
Question: it is safe to use this flash with my camera, without destroying it?
Thank you for the answers and advices.

Yes, a little lint...

---------- Post added 08-05-18 at 11:22 AM ----------

It's a little harder and too expensive to find another lab. I agreed with the lab, that when I go to process another films, those will not be processed unless they have new or good chemicals. I prefer to wait...

Thank you for your answers.

All pictures (from three rolls) was shoot in Program mode, not manual or other ISO settings.

Nope. The rolls were the same lot and date of made, same expiry date

The second negative looks colorless, first one look good and third one looks better. I think that lab use the chemicals more than normal. When are new process is good, when are used the process is bad...

Hello.
Excuse for my english, it is not my native language.

I still shooting film so my question is about the problem of a few negative photos. Although it is the same type of film, from the same Kodak ColorPlus 200 lot, three different rolls and the pictures were made with the same Ricoh XR-20SP camera and Rikenon P Zoom 1:3.4-4.5 35-70mm Macro lens, but in different time periods. The first photo is taken somewhere in February, the second photo at the beginning of June, and the third one last week. Photos were scanned from film with the same scanner at the photo lab.
Film development was done at the same lab, on the same machine by the same staff. What could have been wrong? The camera was used in Program mode (auto) for all the photos on the three films. It was something wrong to develop, the process was wrong, used chemicals were used..., what do you think? Any advice or opinion is welcome, so as not to make mistakes again. The lab told me I'm wrong with camera settings.

Pentax MZ-7 mirror motor compatibility

Hello,
Last day I bought two Pentax SLR cameras: Pentax MZ-5N and Pentax MZ-7, only bodies.
Pentax MZ-5N is fully functional (only flash spring broken - known issue and some scratches in viewfinder eye)
The second one, Pentax MZ-7, have a locked mirror up and some pictograms on LCD when power on. I unscrew some covers and unlock mirror and aperture lever, screw back and power on, set on AUTO PICT, focusing on something and triggered one. At the second trigger, the mirror remain locked up. No film in camera.
I never found discussion about mirror motor compatibility between two cameras and I want to move motor from MZ-5N to MZ-7 and make the last one fully functional.
Could anyone tell me if these motors are compatible? Thank you.

George.

Hello. Thank you for your answers.

Yes, I was used the optical image in viewfinder, without taking into account the focus confirmation light. I focus the image clear in viewfinder and shooted, image is unclear. If I use the focus confirmation feature, the image in viewfinder is slightly unclear, but image is clear (example focus on HONDA from tail light from 15-16 feet) with XR Rikenon Zoom 1:3.5 35-70mm MACRO manual lens.

Hello. Thank you for the answer. Could you tell me how I find it to set, in the device menu? In fact, the focus indicator is lightning on inside visor when in focus (I think...), but the pictures is partially blurred (upper side)

Hello. I am new member here and my native language is not English, sorry for mistakes. I am a new DSLR Pentax K10D camera holder (I never had DSLR) and I would like to ask about the focus. The device has a 18-55mm kit lens and looks like it works well with it, but if I mount a manual focus the focus is distorted. I tried lenses that I own AUTO SEARS 1:17 50mm, XR RIKENON ZOOM 1: 3.5 35-70mm MACRO and AUTO ZOOM CHINON 1:4.0-5.6 70-210mm on this unit. All these manual lenses seem to give back focus. Is this normal for this type of device? This Pentax K10D has firmware 1.31 that can not access the DEBUG MODE menu with a MODSET.TXT and PKTETHER.
