It's a very nice lens. My son used to have one. You should have no trouble selling it.

New ON1 NoNoise

I just installed the new ON1 Photo RAW 2022 this morning. It has NoNoise baked in. I was waiting for this, as I prefer not to send back-and-forth to plugins.

The NoNoise panel is in the Develop module, not in Effects. It is very effective in killing noise and simultaneously sharpening. So far I'm impressed.

One of my first applications: shot at ISO5000, f/5.6, 1/1250 on the K3iii with the DFA 150-450 in dull light (a Bell Miner).

Like most, my initial reaction to the question was the DFA* 70-200. Some contests are not even close.

To 150-450 or not to 150-450?

The DFA 150-450 is one of my most used lenses, both on K1 and K3iii. I use it hand-held almost exclusively, and frequently wide open. It really is a beautiful lens for wildlife. If I didn't have it, it would be an immediate purchase. A DFA 150-450 album, mostly with K1 and K3.

Bought it, updating from the 2021 version. The NoNoise inclusion alone makes it worthwhile for me.

By the way, the coupon SDP20 will save you 20%.

I can see that this would be a minor convenience. But I'm not sure it is sufficient to outweigh a sub-optimal optical design. I would rather they just went with whatever works best.

There are some very cheap P-TTL capable flashes on the market for under US$90 new. Check out the Godox TT350P or the Yongnuo YN585EX.

I agree about the DA15 and DA 18-135, but still love them. By the way, my DA15 now performs much better after its decentring issues were fixed.

I agree with this one. I push it with my thumb, and often unintentionally move the adjacent rear dial in the process. Perhaps reprogramming another button is the way to go, but I haven't tried that yet.

SMC DA40 2.8 woes

Sorry to hear this! I've never taken this lens apart, so can't help with advice. I hope you can get it working. "Cool" is absolutely the right word.

By the way, I use mine on the K1 regularly. It generally performs very well, with only the extreme corners getting muddy at large apertures. I attached three uncropped images taken with DA40 + K1 in this thread. Even the shots at f/4.5 were very clean and at f/8 the corners are perfect.

Getting reacquainted with my reconstructed DA 15 Limited on the K3iii,

and also the DA 55-300 (non-PLM),

It's not nearly as sharp as my DFA 150-450, but a lot more convenient to carry.

Pentax 645z: thinking of ditching what should I do?

I've done lots of very successful wildlife shooting with the K1 and DFA 150-450, hand held, including birds in flight. It's not too shabby. I'm using the K3iii for wildlife now though, which is better again.

Personally, I've never been bothered about the 15-30, but then, I'm not a filters sort of guy. If you are, I can understand the frustration.

I don't own a Z, though I have been tempted. If I did, I think I would have gone in search of a DFA or DA 25mm as one of my first purchases. Would that still not be wide enough for you?
