Well, it certainly makes sense that you would know more about what goes on in my backyard than I do. After all, you've passed through here a few times and know a biker. I've only lived here for 43+ years. :asleep:

There are a lot of people who do that. One of the common t-shirts is "I rode my bike to trailer week". You can see dozens of trailers on any given stretch of road at any given time. Of course they're scattered among the hundreds of bikes.

I'm pretty sure these folks didn't stop outside of town, take their bikes out of a trailer and ride into Wall just to park in front of Wall Drug.

After living here for over 40 years I can attest that that is complete bull.
Apparently you've never been here during the Sturgis rally.

Yep. What a paradise this place is.
Rain, huge hail, hurricane force (literally) wind, heavy snow, tornadoes, scorching heat, high humidity.......... Often multiple such conditions combined, but the other 3 days of the year are wonderful.

No. Period.
If you think that's true then the next time you or your loved one is sick or injured you should call an bean counter, not a doctor.

Let's suppose there were CMOs (Crime Management Organizations) or FMOs (Fire Management Organizations):

"Police department; how can we help?"
"My house was burglarized while we were out tonight"
"All right sir, I'll refer that to our financial experts to see if that's warrants investigating."

"911, what's your emergency?"
"My house is on fire."
"Very well. What's the value of your house? How old is it? What percentage of it is in flames? We need to asses the probability of a successful intervention before approving a response by the fire department."

I disagree with part of this.
Medical providers, i.e. Physicians, PAs, and Nurse Practitioners, etc. are the ONLY ones who should be making medical decisions. The insurance company bean counters, actuaries, etc. should have no say.

If they do it will be the stupidest move ever. The cost of caring for a Covid patient has to be exponentially more expensive than vaccinating one.
OTH, non insured pay nothing for the vaccine. There's a fund for that so maybe they figure if they won't pay, the fund will. The only sure thing relative to insurance companies is that the best interest of the insured is not their priority. Their own best interest is and, from a purely business viewpoint, that makes sense. It stinks, but it males sense.

Yes, both doses.

YES!
My arm was sore for 3 days after the second one. No other ill effects though. No sign of Guillain-Barré syndrome.

I'm not in any way stating that there are no risks associated with the vaccines. There is no medication or vaccine, not a single one, that is without risk. My only point was that the risk/reward analysis seems heavily weighted in favor of vaccination.
If my house is on fire I'm going to try to get out even though I risk tripping over something on the way or getting run over by a responding fire truck once I'm outside.

Here's the problem I have with the "the vaccine causes argument:
Scenario 1: Some people developed blood clots and the only thing they had in common was they had been vaccinated. The obvious conclusion is that the vaccine causes blood clots.
Scenario 2: Some people who weren't vaccinated developed blood clots. If the only thing they had in common was they had orange juice for breakfast so would it be a logical conclusion that orange juice causes blood clots?
Concurrent events are not necessarily tied to a single causative.

Another issue I have is the "it's not 100% effective" argument.
Well, neither are seat belts, life vests, or fire extinguishers and they have some potential risks as well. A seat belt could possibly trap you in a sinking car if you drive into the river, a life vest could snag on some part of a sinking boat and you could be dragged under and drowned, and some fire extinguishers contain known carcinogens so by the same logic seat belts, life vests, and fire extinguishers should never be used.
BTW, parachutes don't always work either so if you ever have to jump out of a plane and a parachute is available, don't bother with it. You might end op getting snagged in a tree and die of thirst or be eaten by a leopard before being rescued.
