Update on the optical scheme of the new HD PENTAX-D FA 50mm f/1.4 SDM AW

70-200 was the ignition lens, the new *primes are using also the new coating Aero ll and new elements, the quality of all 3 will be highest end.
Only the slow production run is a negative point.
And yes, Ricoh patented, but Pentax development, cause developed by origin Pentax stuff.
Like the * 70-200.
Best regards

I think you're a bit harsh. Pentax Rumors clearly state that their information comes from asahi man and provide links to his posts in the Digital Photography Review forum. So did Kunzite here DFA*50 1.4 coming - Page 202 - PentaxForums.com.

Some pictures from Stockhoms photo fair with DFA50.
I do not see any shutter shock with DFA50 on those few pictures, maybe due to the weight of the lens or the lens elements or groups in the lens do not vibrate.
The lens seems ready for production.
First 3 with f5.6.
And the last 3 with f1,4, one whole picture. Some parts within the depth of field.
Edit: The second last image is a 100% of the last image (the jacket appears to be in focus), Cashback is also 100%.

Nope, you're right. Statistically, electronics or machines are most likely to fail when they're brand new. Also better for the environment to keep using old equipment. Even your car. Especially your car, actually! Better still, don't drive at all... ;)

No, but the K-1II allegedly supports more dancing angels. It's a hardware change, though, and won't be available as a firmware update for the K-1. Just in case anyone was about to ask...

If handheld PS is true this is an awesome release! IQ will be insane. I'm very happy seeing Pentax focussing on IQ over speed.

If the K-1 had been a Tesla, there would only be 5 in private hands, but with lots of noise and promises on how great the future of the K1 is.

In a day or so we will see what all the fuss has been about. The K1 is selling better than expected so maybe a lack of parts is behind the upgrade. Since they had to upgrade it anyway, why not add a few improvements that had already been developed? The actual release of the K1 was much delayed for reasons beyond Ricoh's control. So design wise it is not that new.

Does anyone know what the words "wireless sync" mean in the section on flash specs? I profess ignorance of modern flash systems. Flash photography is something I rarely engage in. I am still stuck in the old auto thyristor days. They work good enough for my use.

I fail to see the problem with a company releasing a camera that is only marginally better than an existing model. What's wrong with incorporating a bit of new technology into an existing model? How is not having some improvements better than having same?

Now I think about it, the switch being a zoom lock makes a lot of sense if this is a zoom lens designed to be suitable for astrophotography. It will be pointed upwards for long exposures, so the zoom lock would be necessary

Don't take it bad Uluru, but...

If every wildlife shooter is using 300mm+ lenses, there a very good reason. Give us an unlimited budget, we'll probably all choose a 500mm+ lenses to use in hides, plus a lighter option to use when walking (150-450, 150-600, 300 f4, 70-300). The farther is your subject, the higher are the chances that it will show you a natural behavior, and the better will be your pictures.

Most important factors when choosing the focal length is not the environment, but rather the mistrust and size of your subjects. In Australia (where I've been for 3 months, but I'm from France), most animals have very little to no mistrust, but still, go taking a good fairy-wren picture with a 85/135mm and share it with us, that will be quite interesting :) . But yes, you can shoot a dingo on Fraser Island with a 85mm, or even a 24mm, but that's not a representative example of what wildlife photography is.

For a lot of us (well, at least in France, where animals mistrust is huge :'( ), this is wildlife photography:

Which world's logic do you use?

You claim there are no apples existing on this world any longer and then you yourself provide a link to that exact apple.

I do not exist.
