I'm thinking of selling all my Pentax stuff and moving elsewhere.

Only reason I would change to other brand is if I suddenly start to like making videos - and I don't see that happening within next 20 years...

Ive had K-1 for few weeks now and I'm loving it.
Due to work and other issues I have not been able to get out as much as I'd like, but here's one from my recent trip to Bolivia.

Which focus mode you're using?
The single, center point, NOT continuos gives best results!
Don't use auto mode, if there's one in K-1, it chooses random focus point.

I also happen to like The CameraStore reviews and find them mostly honest; complaining when there's reason and praising when they like something. I also like the fact that they actually show what they do with the equipment, not just plah plah.

To get a vintage effect on a photo, try double exposure as follows:
1. take first a photo of a pattern. In sample case it was a dry plant.
2. take then the second photo of the main subject. In the sample case a lighthouse.
You surely want to play around with exposure compensation on each take to get the effect you want.

Sure the DFA lenses can be used with APS-C cameras and normally even without visible vigneting.
The only problem I can see, is that those are/will not APS-C optimized ==> bigger and heavier than needed.

I'd be very happy with square sensor. No more attaching grip or twisting wrist to uncomfortable position. Thats what the grid on the wheel means; one can select landscape / portrait grid in viewfinder.

Numbering system on K5

I use 5000 prefix and when passing the 9999 limit, changed it to 5001, next to 5002, and so on.
For K-3 I use 3000.
For 645Z, if I ever can afford one, I'd use Z000.

Is K3 Auto focus really that bad?

60-250 is quite slow focusing lens. I've used it for BIF with some success, but when I got FA*300 f2.8 and tried that with K-3 things improved a LOT. What I'm trying to say is LENS matters.
K-3 compred to K-5 are almost like night and day. K-3's autofocus is much more responsive.

I surely think this is not a game changer for me personally, but hasn't lack of leaf-shutter lenses been one of the main drawbacks of the Pentax 645 system?
I mean for all those fashion photographers that shoot outdoors this would really be a game changer as you could go from a +$50.000,- system to around $20.000,- system (considering 645Z + lens(es) + lighting system). So this should bring a lot more professional photographs to Pentax camp or at least seriously think about it.

I had several comments during my vacation trip with family about how my "big" (K-3) camera must take good photos...
Until I asked one lady what size of pots she uses in her kitchen and then told her surely when she uses the small ones, the food must taste awfull. :D

What's missing?

Maybe a wide angle (like a 14 to 15mm or 1x-2xmm zoom), a longer macro lens (with the 28mm you have to get really close) and if you like, a fish-eye.
